For centuries the Mixtec community in the state of Oaxaca has been farming agave plants. They now want to share their traditions with outsiders. The farmers have the support of Rutopía, a startup from Mexico City that promotes rural eco-tourism.

Dunno, it seems to me these kind of alternatives do have an impact and are obviously actually proggressive to a more stabilized economy, but I just can't see more than 1000 people in a single mexican state willing to these kind trips. People are simply not interested in these kind of tourism anymore. Or in any type of vacation that involves certain implications like, oh I don't know, maybe not being on a luxury hotel? Idk, just my thoughts, I'm not saying ecotourism can't be a thing. It can, but I can't see this specific type of tourism being as big as other ones like, for example, the ones in Tulum (or Xcaret itself)

Our indigenous Mesoamerican Mexican Cultures reached the level of CIVILIZATIONS! unlike the USA, the Antillean islands or south america Amazons were indigenous were uncivilized nomad tribes. Pulque para los reyes! Redbull ara los bueyes!
