As a Mexican farmer who’s raising cows and has a dad who predator hunts, i agree and want to preserve these animals because they are here for a reason. Wolves, cougars, even coyotes are here for a reason. Its conservation not extinction.

I live in a farm community in western colorado and the state just voted to reintroduce wolves to our community. It is going to be a war between the wolves and our livestock (the livestock will lose). How are wolves good for the ecosystem? It seems to me city folk in Denver made this happen because they think wolves are "cute" or something without realizing the harmful affect it will have on people that make their living off the land.
@JM-nt5ex

@@creightongerard3895 I get it, I come from a rural community, but wolves gotta live somewhere. Government should compensate for losses and help with preventing conflicts, but I don't think it's fair to snap any species that doesn't convenience us out of existence. And like the video says, wolves just get replaced by coyotes, and cats.
@jimmylives

@creightongerard3895
@creightongerard3895 3 жыл бұрын
@@JM-nt5ex I respectfully and fundamentally disagree. Wolves don't have to live somewhere, they're being reproduced in a lab and dropped off in our farm country, so it's not like they are being moved from one place to another. If they really want to keep the species alive, they should do so in a place where it won't affect people's lively hoods, like a national park in Alaska. But if I am being completely honest, I have no problem with an invasive species being wiped out for the better of human existence. I know that's an unpopular take, but to me the livelihood of human beings far outweighs the importance of some animal that does nothing beneficial for us. Coyotes and cats don't threaten livestock. And having the government compensate people for prevention and losses is fiscally irresponsible. We're creating a problem where one does not exist. Furthermore, it drives up the price for the consumer of livestock. I understand we live in an urban society nowadays, but we need to work to understand the plight of all minority populations.

Unless they are a threat. You know Bengal Tigers hunt people, it's well documented and you can just find it on KZbin. Saltwater crocodiles here in the Philippines kill people unless they are hunted down. You can't justify protecting animals that prey on the local population. People who militantly protect animals are simply out of touch by the threat they pose to the livelihoods of people in rural areas.

Que felicidad. Los lobos son una especie tan leal cuando se trata de formar alianzas y muy importantes para la cadena trofica. Tenemos mucho que aprender de la naturaleza como para sustituirla por cosas mecánicas y robóticas.

What a beautiful animal. White fur on the face as opposed to the gray wolves in north America. Both real pretty.

Now if they would just introduce the ranchers to the Savory Institute and practices of regeneration, then the ranchers could use their cattle to heal the grasslands of the area and have ample free feed for their cattle and other wildlife so the predators will have ample wild prey.

I have an idea. What do you think of taking some federal lands in the Southwest and designating as a wildlife sanctuary. That way there is a large area for Mexican Gray Wolves to be protected and live in a natural environment without human contact. So no ranching in those areas. Then we can unprotect them on all other lands so ranchers can protect there livestock. Maybe give them multiple locations. I agree with protecting ecosystems but I also want some land to be used in production. With my idea I believe we can protect ecosystems all across the western us, and still allow use of the majority of the land for agricultural and livestock needs. Thanks

A rich man from Aguascalientes poisoned thousands of gray wolfs in the 70’s because they were eating his livestock according to my grandparents. But he did get a permit from the authorities to do it. So they were eradicated in that state and I’m assuming other surrounding states.

In 1990 a friend of mine and myself bought a pair of wolf hibrids in Texas that were 98 percent wolf and were destined for a wolf breeding program in Durango Mexico. This might be some of the descendants.
