Alpine Carnivore is the best hunting program available today. I discovered the show near the end of last season, watched all episodes within a week, and had to wait so long for season 2. Keep up the amazing work. I look forward to each Sunday for a new episode.

Great adventure congratulations guys! In Coues deer world, a 400 yard shot is not uncommon at all! It looks like your first two shots were way low. The first one was low and to the right!

Hey Max glad you enjoyed the show. As for the shots not ideal that’s for sure. We had a rented rifle and probably shouldn’t have pushed it to far but glad they were clean misses and we got him afterwards.

What's your guy's rifle setup they look really slick.
@AlpineCarnivore2 жыл бұрын
The rifle we used on this hunt was a loaner from the Bobbi at Coues Outfitters. I believe it was a Remington 700 chambered in .270 if my memory serve me correctly.
@tomasmedina58452 жыл бұрын
@@AlpineCarnivore love .270 all I really hunt with. I hand load my shells so I have tailored the rounds quite a bit.
@AlpineCarnivore2 жыл бұрын
Hand loading is something id love to learn one day

It tough to start but it's easy to get into. When you start to do precision shooting that's when the work starts. But slowly see what happens to the shots and adjusting slightly is easy.

Oh man I was dying but he got it done first coues buck held his composure well most people when he shot the first time would ran off another ten rounds he knew when to stop he knew his limits with that gun and it worked out

Awesome Buck ! Good on ya Trav. Mitch, what kind of rangefinder did you use? Does it compensate for down/up hill angle. Sometimes at long distance , that can make all the distance. Specially on smaller game like the Couse Whitetails. And depending on calibre that can mean 20 inches plus of drop at 400 yards. ( if you are sighted in at 200). ps , any scorpions?
@AlpineCarnivore2 жыл бұрын
Hey Bruce we both have new vortex rangefinders with built in angle compensation. I wish I could say it was the range finder but I think maybe it was just the distance and we should have practiced with the rifle more before going out at further distances. As for the scorpions no not on this trip it’s winter so I was told the snakes spiders and scorpions stay a little more hidden 😁
