Hi, @chilotalks Thank you for this informative video. There's something that wasn't addressed though. According to the application guidelines, it's stated that recipients will enter as non-regular students (research students with no degree) and if they'd want to move on to be regular students at a graduate school, an exam would have to be taken and an application for an extension of the scholarship would be required. I know it's also possible to be enrolled right away as a regular student I'd like Stefan to please clarify on the status of non-regular Vs regular students, especially on what the Graduate School Examination is like

Good morning Dr Chioma! I’ve been watching your videos since January. They’re really inspiring, thank you so much ma’am. I’m preparing to apply for MEXT scholarship(Embassy recommended) next year. I just graduated from UNN last year and I’m currently serving(NYSC). Please I just want to ask you a question. I have been doing a lot of research concerning this scholarship. I’ve gone through the application guidelines and there’s no information on minimum CGPA, though some sources claim such(2.3 on a 3.0 grading scale). I graduated with a 2.1 honor with a CGPA of 3.7, please from your experience and as a Nigerian graduate, are my eligible? God bless you ma’am!!

Hello Chilo, thanks for your time. Can I apply for a straight PhD with my Bachelor's degree? And for the health certificate form, do I really need to do all those test? Or should I just find a doctor to write good comments on my health status since am obviously healthy

Not sure you can skip masters but kindly confirm from the application guidelines. Most things like this are clearly stated there, they will always say the highest degree they want. As Regards the health, I can't give any advise here because like I said I am in the University recommended category and my school didn't ask for that

Hello Chilo. I hope you get to see this. So I’m planning to apply to Mext for 2023. As 2022 has closed. But there’s a clause about getting disqualified when you change your status of residence from student to anything else. I’m a bit confused. Does it mean after studies, you can’t remain in Japan, you must return?🥺🥺🥺 But I want to stay 😭😭😭😭

I think it means while your scholarship is ongoing, you can't switch from student visa this is especially important to those who see the scholarship as only a means to come over but really don't want to study and they have plans to arrive here and drop out of school for other purposes.

@@GracyIma you need to first Google your course in Japan and you will immediately find schools that offer it. Pick one, check further the requirements and deadline for mext and apply. Mine is TUFS.

Hello Priyanshu, That's no problem. You could wait until the results of the first screening are released then you proceed to request the provisional acceptance certificate from a prospective professor. All the best in your application!!!!

Hello Rachel, I actually mentioned in a video that I really don't know so much about the undergraduate category because I really haven't met a friend on that category and so I won't want to mislead unintentionally. However, i am still on the look for someone on that category to throw my light on it. One advice though, is that you can work closely with the application guidelines for that category because it always comes loaded. All the best.

Hello sir, It depends on what the criteria is...of you fit into both category then I guess it's okay to make your choice. About which is easier, I don't know honestly and if I'm being honest i don't think any Scholarship is easy because it's competitive and other people are applying too. About research plan, kindly stick to what they asked of you, I think they usually specify the number of pages they can take. Kindly confirm from the application guidelines.

I actually submitted my original Student copy but I made scanned copies for other applications. Student copies are replaceable and one can always demand from the school. What I think is one for life is the Certificate

Kindly confirm the receipt stipend online (from the application guidelines or Google search). About the postgraduate after PhD, yes you can source for other Scholarships for your postgraduate. For jobs and internships, they don't find for you, you find for yourself but they dont restrict you from doing one especially if your program so needs it

Hello Joshua, Nice suggestion you have here and I really appreciate it. However, I am not so active on Facebook and rarely make time to do so much on the platform and so I didn't want to direct people to a place I am barely active on. To be honest, it's not easy hassling all social media handles, KZbin, and full time research/laboratory work.
