For $80 that paint work on the face is not enough. It NEEDS more shading. I've seen Marvel Legends with more shading on the face. The proportions of the body are a bit odd in the torso and thighs, but the suit looks good. The overall aesthetic is good. I'm a big Mezco fan and after getting Punisher, I just can't imagine why they'd go cheap on this figure and skip painting the face. Standing next to other Mezco figures the face makes him look like a cheap knockoff. It's such a shame too, because that sculpt is probably their best likeness so far. I was really really looking forward to this figure, but now I'm on the fence about it . . . :/

+crazyzorimonkey1 I agree with you that the skin should have been done better but I don't think it looks cheap next to other mezco figures. Overall I am pretty happy with it.

I just received mine and in person this figure looks great it's like a mini Hot Toys /Sideshow figure and quite frankly it's the best 6" BVS Superman out there! Better than allThe other ones in this scale. Anyone who says this looks like a Mattel figure, obviously has no clue what they are talking about! The three head sculpts look just like Henry Cavil and does have the realistic look to it. The head with the heat vision effect is based out of the movie before he beams his heat vision or when he gets angry at Luthor when he is being told his mother is held hostage. his the suit is very well Made and is screen accurate looking. The brown shading on the head also brings out detail which doesn't look bad. The blue eyes shows up very well to look like Cavil's eyes. The accessories are really cool to.

Pretty nice figure. HOWEVER it looks like they forgot to paint the neck! And what's weird is when you look at the Mezco BvS, that figure had a textured neck that didn't match the neck. SOOOO whoever's in charge of the necks should be FIRED. Great video, and congrats to having over 2000 subscribers!

I'm happy the headsculpt turned out better than expected. Just about every headsculpt to date of Cavill has been awful. I think Mezco did pretty well considering how limited of space they have with 6". Can't wait to get him in next week.

with how good punisher came out, this one seems a bit disappointing tbh. Likeness is okay but the sculpt is too soft and to me only looks like cavill at the right angles on the neutral face, the eyebrows look weird, and i agree the heat vision face looks like he has allergies or got sprayed by pepper spray (companies really gotta start doing something else for that lol). Also the lack of paint shading or detail on the hands, neck, and boots. Too bad, i was hoping mezco would knock this one out of the park and make the definitive movie superman but still no company has made a superb one yet. Very unlike mezco especially following up from punisher and for the price point it shouldnt be just okay imo. Oh and i agree the hair is a little too perfect, i dont think his hair was ever THAT perfect in the movie. Maybe theyll make a better superman for justice league. The other disappointing fact is that they have perfect likenesses for their other lines like star trek and classic monsters, so idk what's up with them here.

Few critiques of the figure: I don't know if the lighting but he shin color looks washed out. I don't remember him being that pale they should have added more shading to his face. The other faces sculpts don't look good either. It seems to me his cape is too light of a red considering his suit is so dark of a blue. Also the cape accessory why is it clear? It seem like it would be better Red so it doesn't look like something just stuck in his cape. The only reason I'm getting this is because I want it to go with my Batman. I hope the Wonder Women has a much tanner face.

Man, I was hoping the Mezco Superman' s face sculpt would turn out to be as good as the Hot toy. Pretty sure the Batfleck' face is sculpted better than the Superman one. Nice review, though. I'm about to get it as soon as BBTS ship it next week.

The reddened face glows in the dark.Just focus closely a flashlight over his face for atleast 20sec.Then it will glow for about 3-5seconds.Best at dim room.

Unparalleled Universe I agree he looks pretty good, but I think I've decided to only collect comic classic versions from this line. If I'm going to get any live action property figures, I'll probably end up happier waiting for Tamashii. At least then my DCEU Superman will be in the same scale as my other live action property figures, and the face printing will likely look even better.

Face looks ok for me, but the range for the hand to go up is a bit limited isn't it? Like you can't do the flying pose perfectly. Thanks for the review man, very fast and very reliable as always.

The eyebrows and skin tone(s) are a disservice to the figure.those teeth are crazy.the line is turning out much more hit or miss than I would have ever expected based on initial offerings. Plus they have a new system for the capes and they didn't implement it on superman, another mistake.aside from deathstroke, I'm no longer on the edge of my seat waiting for new releases,feeling the need to preorder everything. Maybe if they slow down a bit, try to release one figure every month or two and focus on really nailing these things I'll get back on board to the degree I was initially. That joker was also a huge disappointment for me. Don't like the face sculpts, the choice of colors or the accessories. Put that up on ebay the day it arrived in the mail. Just looked at it in the box and said no way.

I was watching an interview with Mezco and they mentioned the DC Classics Superman had a glowing effect painted on his heat vision face - the paint application looks the same on this one (yellowish iris color); did you try shining a light on that face for a bit and then dimming the lights? I did not see any pics like that in the video, and was wondering if this one had glowing heat vision as well?

nice can't wait for mine. Was just shipped out yesterday, been waiting for a review on him you've got the first one here I've seen.. happy you said he looks better in hand. Not very much in form of accessories unfortunately. Hard to think of anything they could have included though. Perhaps an extra head with messier hair and different facial expression.. something metal like that is also bendable

The brown face spray is supposed to simulate skin texture, freckles, imperfections, etc for greater realism, but it's too obvious in this scale. If it were on a 1/6 scale figure it would work much better. I think the head sculpts on this are too basic. The regular sculpt looks like he's staring off into space and they used the angry sculpt twice, one with heat vision, one without, and I think both don't look quite right. I dunno man, this figure is Super basic to be charging $75 for but by default he's obviously the best 1/12 one out there since the Mafex Superman is terrible. I must say though that manhole cover is pretty creative for an accessory and his suit looks A+++ real nice. Thanks for the review though. You seem to be really fast with Mezco stuff. D Amazing is fast with Figuarts, you fast with Mezco, lol.

What stands would you recommend for these? I use the pegs but wish they clicked in tighter. Punisher has the tightest fit out of my 6 Mezco's. The 6" and 7" / 8" kaiser doll stands are great Legends, some Marvel Selects, DC Icons, DCC, Figuarts, MAFEX and NECA but seeing as these have cloth, I'm worried the metal loop around the figure might be risky. I have limited display space and would like to get these without worrying about the lack of display space since Mezco must be displayed, but figs like Legends can be stored in a plastic tub under a bed.

mafex still has better head sculpt than this IMO. and Cavill is not suppose to be taller than Batfleck! it's obvious they used the same body too when you see them side by side... sigh. I hate reused body molds on different characters especially life action characters. those feet are also ridiculously big.

i think the mafex is just better detailed, i thought the sculpt was bad too, but actually the likeness is really accurate! I didnt know till i looked up someone who repainted the face and hands on facebook, it looks glorious! The likeness with proper paint is way closer than even the hot toys one. I think this is just a case of wasted potential, the sculpt is definitely there but it's lacking a proper paint job. The fact that i might have to commission a repaint or attempt it myself is putting me off from getting the set (Supes and bats) even though i know batman is a good figure. Tempted to just go with the classic superman coming up and he has a cool magnetic gimmick for bullets bouncing off his chest too.
