Love the figure and I’m a big fan of Harrison Ford since I was a kid. People will compare this to the SHF version, but pick what you want. Be lucky to BE ABLE to pick either or even buy both. One is not better than the other. Comparison is the thief of happiness.

Yup 100%. The ones comparing and complaining weren't able to secure a pre-order or couldn't afford it. It's ridiculous for them to compare and actually say the SHF is better but haven't had the opportunity to even hold the Mezco figure in hand personally. SMH.

The SHF didn’t include gloved hands either. I feel this is a failure on both figures since he spends 1/3 to half the movie wearing them, to include all fights minus the Cairo/Marion kidnapping fight scene.

Sorry, but I’m going to say that the SH Figuarts Indiana Jones is still the best, the Harrison Ford likeness is spot on and I love the way they made the jacket arms swappable rather than doing pleather. I like that the white shirt sleeves are rolled up like they are in the film and don’t bother with a usable holster.

Thanks for diving right into the articulation. Looks like he shares the same base body as The Shadow, which is super poseable. Indy is perfect for a cloth goods figure, so I prefer this to the S.H.Figuarts version, plus that one scales a bit smaller.

Great action photos! I just finished posing Indy for his "idol swap" scene. While Mezco paid a lot of attention to detail, I do have a few issues. The gun does not fit in the holster well, and the holster itself is terribly implemented. It doesn't close, whether the Webley is inside or not. There is a strap that clasps to nothing on the holster so it just dangles. The holster itself cannot be repositioned on his belt and sits too far forward. The golden Chachapoyan idol looks amazing but cannot sit on the pedestal. the tiniest bump makes it fall off. It should have come with a peg or something to fit on the pedestal. Or you can do what I do and just move the scene to where he swaps the idol, as it sits better in his hand, and the bag of sand sits (a little) better on the pedestal. At least when you bend him down on his knee, he still looks good in the pose.

D, a very tiny amount or drop of silicone lubricant on the hair and hat will keep it from sticking so much without leaving debris. I'm surprised they didn't put a magnet on the idol and pedestal because it's so tiny and the base of the idol is too small.

Awesome review D! I really like this Mezco Indy and all of the accessories he brings but the S.h.figuarts Indy is in my opinion the best 1:6 scale Indy. I could be wrong but that's just my opinion.

Hey D, thank you for your videos, which are extremely cathartic to watch, especially when characters close to heart are being reviewed. Im a grown a$$ man (deep end of 40) and I dream of AFs, which play out something like your phenomenal end of the vid shoots. I can't say I will get these one day because I know there's no such thing as 'one day'. Plus, there are so many Mezco AFs I love that it's impossible. With respect to you and anyone looking to get this, but I think the SH Figurearts version is better. The thing I think this figure has over it is some of the accessories like the web for his back and the pedestal. Else SH Figurearts looks more like Harrison Ford than this one does. Similar articulation, the jacket is a little more complex compared to this one but it's still good.

Figuarts headsculpt is better, maybe you can use the head for Mezco. I've given up buying Mezco as the soft goods wear out like Hot Toys regardless how much care you put on them

It looks good, but definitely overpriced. Huge surprise. The tailoring on the collar doesn't look great. The faces are pretty bad. I think the jacket and pants are done fairly well. Pretty cool figure, if you can afford it. Would need some tlc, maybe a swap to a hasbro head

It's a crying shame that they utterly destroyed Indiana Jones's character with that last movie. Even Crystal Skull, despite its stupidity, had the reverence and respect to give Indy a decent ending. He was with the woman he loved and he had a son with whom he could have adventures with. Now he's a broken down old man who lost his wife, his son, and his mind--as he was willing to sacrifice the entire world because he had just given up on life. It took a woman literally knocking him out and carrying his broken, decrepit, shamed ass back to the future and putting him in his old man chair, so that Marion could feed him applesauce for the rest of his days as he mourns his empty life and his dead son. Meanwhile, the villains of the movie just sort of took care of themselves. Shameful. In my head canon there was nothing after The Last Crusade.

I like this indy but I have to say I like my shfigurarts better...the likeness is way stronger to Harrison ford and I don't have to worry about the jacket being damaged. 😊
