I have a bunch of Neca's but believe me the price difference is totally justified! The Mezco looks so great, I posed him after a Sideshow statue atm and he looks so fantastic.

@@bootganger3005 Quality wise Mezco is better imo, but if you want to collect Predators (plural) you can't get around NECA! They've released hundreds of different Predators over the years, their quality control has vastly improved with their ultimate series and ofc much cheaper than Mezco. Also Mezco has just the Jungle Hunter released yet and it's hard to tell if they will do a whole Predator series. If NECA figures are to large for your taste take a look at HIYA Toys - they are 1/18 scale, have a great look and articulation for their size!

@@bootganger3005 Yes the older ones have good articulation too. Of Ahab there is a ultimate version as well, main difference is the ultimates come in very nice collectors boxes with a lot of accesories. You get at least a masked and unmasked head in each set, depending on the figure also closed and open mandible head sculpts. + lots of weapons and sh*t😁 You just get more stuff for your money.

I don't care what anyone says, this looks way better than the Neca version. The sculpt looks so much better, always felt that the unmasked neca faces look a bit weird. The Mezco Predator has nailed it.

The problem is the paint job, while the sculpt and overall body proportions look more like the original suit from the first film, the skin tones and armor just don't come close to those from said suit

My problem with this figure is the paint on the head and body, if you compare it to the promo photos and early prototype this looks nothing like what was advertised paint wise on the head face and skin

Mezco has done a wonderful job when it comes to the Jungle Hunter Predator. It's nicely detailed, especially for being a 1/12th scale piece. The light up options are much appreciated. This is a solid version of Jungle Hunter Predator, aside from some paint inaccuracies and a lack of extra paint in a few areas. The skin tone is suppose to be darker, instead of being pale. It's especially noticeable when it comes to the eyes and the mouth area. Speaking of which, the mandibles themselves protrude outward way too much when it comes to the unhelmeted head sculpt. Also, the mouth is a bit too wide open as well. The Biomask has too much speckling and it's suppose to be a bit smoother when it comes to the helmeted head sculpt. The figure would've easily been a perfect Jungle Hunter Predator if the paint application had been improved. Otherwise, thanks as always Spot for another great video! I really appreciate it! This is definitely a cool looking Predator figure. One thing that I’d love to see Mezco attempt to make in the distant future is a One:12 scale Predator 2 Old Grayback Elder Predator figure. That would be really cool to see.

You were trying to put the wrist blades in upside down. That is probably why you were having issues trying to get them in.

Great Review as always Spot,I will disagree in the fact I think the maskless face sculpts look beautiful. It looks real,it looks detailed and if I'm honest looks 100xs better then Necas messy,slopply painted face sculpts. I was absolutely blown away by how great this figure was from paint to sculpt and details. Articulation is what it needs to be for the predator,not crazy but does what I need it too do. This for my money is the BEST 1/12 predator figure. Unlike Necas which any predator I've EVER bought from either has somthing break within a few minutes of opening (usually the plasma caster) or QC hell from Loose Arms or legs,paint scuffs and marks where they aren't needed & cross eyed head sculpts. This is a figure you can't really appreciate until it's In Your Hands,Pictures and Video don't do this guy justice.

I have the One: 12 Judge Dredd, though not his ride. It's a Grail piece for me because there really aren't many Judge Dredd figures at this scale, as far as I am aware. Generally like his accessories and build. However I could have purchased a whole wave of figures for what I paid for him - On the secondary market.

Being a NECA person, I will say this figure is pretty cool from the neck down. I feel the paint on the head, as well as, the "hairy arms" lol is a deal breaker for me especially at a 100 price point. With not that much more of options except for the light up features, compared to NECA's Jungle Hunter. Great review Spot!

Light up features are cool but I rarely use them so as compared to NECA's JHP I'd say NECA's is clearly the better value (& is more movie accurate too) but unfortunately NECA's lager scale doesn't work w/true 1:12 scale figures so this guy is the definitive 1:12 scale Predator currently available imo. Thanks for the detail review & only thing I'd add is the NECA base & stand w/Predator movie Logo also has some value as compared to NECA (which dos not include such) when comparing apples to apples.

What I dislike is that the face seems to be based on the classic predator from the film “predators. And not the actual jungle hunter…also the helmet seems to be based more on the original hot toys toy.

Quality is much better than on neca figures. My piece has better paint on head how is on this review. Especially on closed mouth. Is not 100% perfect Predator figure but best in this size.

If I had to guess Mezco didn't paint the black layer of paint to save a few bucks. Even Stevie Wonder can see its missing that layer of paint. I don't know who made that decision at Mezco but they should have their eyes gouged out because it's obvious they don't use them. The single jointed elbows is another problem, it's supposed to be very articulate it's a predator!

Neca has better articulation and they didn't leave out a black layer of paint. Look at the price difference, for $100 I expect better from Mezco. They are known as a top notch company. I also have the Crow from Mezco and its an amazing figure with tons of extras. You definitely get your money's worth. I'm not bashing Mezco as a company, I'm bashing the decisions they made for the Predator. They cheaped out on it to save a few bucks.

Seriously... is it odd that I'm feeling guilty about how curious this video has made me about Mezco's take on Predator? xD …Feels like I'd be cheating on Neca ‐.‐ There are a few things that I think I prefer about Neca (and **not** just because I'm almost done with the Lost Tribe, damn it xD) However, there are just so many admittedly superior features here. And I think it's safe to say that we can all see that they're so obvious that there's no real point in even mentioning them lol However…❗ …The aforementioned paint job on the head... ~sigh~ I hate to say it, but it looks kind of generic, if you ask me - especially considering that **absurd** price point 😬 Seriously, it should come with a damned gold nugget for that cost =/ Then, of course, there's the much more ubiquitous nature of Neca. I'm tired of seeing Neca fanboys trash talk this figure without arguments and try to convince themselves that it's bad when it's objectively in terms of quality 1000 times better than a Neca but apparently good objectivity it is not a common quality

Its easier to see the differences if it was for example a One:12 Clothed Wolverine vs a Marvel Legends Wolverine because it would have a real costume over top of its body, but when you're dealing with two plastic body figures with what seems to be similar articulation and similar style heads, what only seems to be the difference on the Mezco release is a real netting on the body, and light up helmet and plasma caster. The NECA Ultimate Lost Predator also had a light up scope and it was still a figure that was a third to half the cost of this one

I'm weak! =Þ But dude, seriously, even as a fairly hardcore (pretty damned obsessive, especially when it comes to the Yautja 🥰) Neca fanatic, I can admit that after having seen this demo, there are **clearly** some of my needs that are not being met. @@jakea75 challenge accepted, Neca's quality control sucks, I have 1/3 of my neca which have manufacturing defects, there are many more accessories on this predator, the light up function, the details are better done, the materials used are better and finally the paint is better and to say that what I said is wrong would be bad faith so it's nice to convince yourself that Neca is better but in fact it doesn't hold

I even noticed that during the reviewing having the lights on for 5 mins they already start to fade, I've noticed with Button Cell Batteries they last a while but they can't keep powering something for a steady amount of time before the batteries I guess get too warm and they start draining...does that make sense?

neca is much better. cheaper more details in what matters and simplicity. cool features on this figure for sure but over complicated without any good reason. the magnets the detachable parts and the real fish netting while cool are unnecessary and seem not well thought out. it over complicated the figure at the expense of better noticeable details that are on neca. sure the light up parts are cool, but it seems like they dropped the ball on what's important for those few unneeded features. especially for the price.
