Well, fortunately my ears are a bit older now, so I'm no longer so overly sensitive to this kind of problems in the treble region. Maybe that's one of the reasons why I still love my HD 800S.

Super specific question that I think you may be the only person qualified to answer haha: I was looking at these as I wanted to add a closed back planar to my collection, but I was recently also offered a DCA Stealth at a pretty good discount (still close to $1000 more than the Liric’s but still). Which would you choose? I’d be running them off of a iFi iCan Pro Signature. Both seem to be pretty amp dependent, but I feel like the iCan would be able to run them both well. Love me a nice soundstage, which the Liric seems to have, but I’ve heard the imaging of the Stealths is pretty incredible too. DECISIONS 😩 (The fact that this is a perfect example of a first world problem is not lost on me haha). Anyway thank you for your reviews and if you respond here, thanks in advance! *quick edit, I’d be doing most of my listening at home, although if I got the Liric’s I’d probably take them out very occasionally
@ConvinceMeAudio
@ConvinceMeAudio Жыл бұрын
Okay, if you go for the stealth, expect to be using it at your desk, only never been able to take it out due to the power requirements In fact, if it wasn’t for the chain you’re already planning to use it on I would discount it out right, this is a pair of headphones that requires speaker amplifiers to be driven properly Stealth are nice headphones, but they require very high and powerful chain to run properly the problematic and they change with every chain LIRIC, you can take on the go and at the desk I love this headphones. I personally would choose this one, but the tuning is a little odd. You either love it or it’s not for you,
@JaviGCalderoni
@JaviGCalderoni Жыл бұрын
@@ConvinceMeAudio Wow thanks so much for the quick response! I’m hoping I can get at least close to max performance out of the Stealth with the iCan, but you’ve got me questioning that. Only reason I’m slightly leaning towards the Stealth is because of how it might scale with better equipment. I’m not entirely sure how the Liric’s scale though, so that may not even be as big of a deal. I listen to a lot of different genres, so I’m also looking for something close to an all-rounder. Idk which would fit that description better haha.
@ConvinceMeAudio
@ConvinceMeAudio Жыл бұрын
@@JaviGCalderoni the stealth scales better and is more conducive to a rounded experience of a multitude of genres. Definitely, just don’t expect to take it on the go, otherwise I would go for stealth. If on the go is on your mind go for LIRIC

@@ConvinceMeAudio I think you nailed the characteristics of the frequency response and that's why I bought it too. I wanted a nice sound stage with some equality across the spectrum and some defined mid range (I love rock music/guitar). Love the ability to locate sounds in the mid range too. For what I listen to, I haven't had *too* many "honky" tracks (a couple--the vocals for "In Your Eyes" by Peter Gabriel seem to demonstrate that shrillness a bit) Thanks again! :)

I've been having a huge dilemma. I've been offered the Focal Stellia (used excellent condition) for $1,700 and the Meze Liric (used excellent condition) for $1,300. I currently own the Audeze LCD-XC and the Sennheiser HD 800 S. Which would you add go for?
@ConvinceMeAudio
@ConvinceMeAudio Жыл бұрын
Ouch, a very difficult choice, but I think I might go for the STELLIA. LIRIC Tuning is very strange, but so transparent and high resolution and it’s an absolutely incredible pair of cans. I just re-purchased it actually, But the focal is safer bet And it scales up tremendously The MEZE I think has to be demoed 1st to see if it suits your music taste, because if you’re listening to badly recorded music, it’s going to tell you like Pop and hip-hop badly mixed general, consumer crap What is one of my favourite headphones genuinely and it’s right there on my table

I have, but close to 56 years ago take it with a pinch of salt please Those headphones plus the HD820 or some of the worst headphones I have ever tried in the flagship category, not my favourite in the slightest. My apologies Sticky, GUI, soft, I don’t like it elite is much better
@moysesdecarvalho
@moysesdecarvalho Жыл бұрын
@@ConvinceMeAudio No need to apologize at all. The Z1R’s are probably the most polarizing cans in the flagship space. It is like the cilantro of cans, either you love it or hate it. I’m on the “love it” team, also with the cilantro, btw. I tried the HD820 and didn’t despise them, but would never buy one myself. I understand those who don’t like the Sony. It took me 20 hours until my brain finally understood its sound profile and presentation and clicked. Before that moment I was afraid I had done a bad choice. But from then on, it’s been listening bliss. It’s a shame hp’s like the Elite are so rare (and even more expensive) where I live. Would live to try those, but I guess they’d be on the fatiguing side to me, as I’m treble sensitive. The HE1000v2 is my second favorite headphones and on my wishlist. But one hour on them was enough to get me tired. Love your reviews. Keep up the good work. Cheers from Brazil. @@ConvinceMeAudio i hope you get the chance to review them with your setup. They are seemingly easy to drive but scale immensely with a good chain. On my iPhone dongle it sounds soft with bloated and very loose bass and almost no depth, albeit having a tall stage. With the Mojo 2 the transients are all sharper, the bass gets tighter and more precise (with less amount too). Imaging gets really good and with better depth. And with the Burson, oh boy, it gets glorious. Bass hits hard and very precisely (slams harder with bf2), the depth and tridimensionality is mesmerizing. It also gets wider with a black background. Mojo 2 + Burson: better imaging a and a tad more separation. BIfrost 2 + Burson (my favorite): more realism, lovely reverb decay and dynamics. I can only im
