I love your podcasts. You help me immensely! One of my favorites you have done is the baby bird series with Tim. What I really need is a series of videos that talk about improving your hold on target (how holding weight, stabilizer weight, etc., effect hold on target).

Hey guys. I love all the knowledge nuggets that are sprinkled throughout the podcast. Makes you not want to miss any of it. You are definitely helping me with my shooting.I never thought about a shot process before. Now I force myself to slow down. I used to just sling arrows down range. I shoot a wrist strap, and I used to slam the trigger as soon as the pin was on target. Now I wait on the pin to slow its movement and squeeze the trigger. And my groups have shrunk considerably. I actually split 2 arrows within a 3 day period last week. So y'alls advice has cost me $40 already. Lol. Well worth it, though. I do think the 2 Hamskea 1/4 inch peep sights I just bought are a touch too big, but they're better than what I had.

I had the same issue with a Hamskea Primer I put on my bow. I drew back once I was in the treestand and the screw came loose. The whole rest fell apart. My arrow fired through my sight and took the level off. They refused to replace it. I now use a Trophy Taker Smack Down Pro and have had zero issues.

I was going to buy a hamskeaa for my new bow build this winter and after hearing your problems I can’t do it. Mountains here in Alaska are just too unforgiving for a rest failure. Too bad I was looking forward to trying that rest. As always great content! Super informative as usual!!

100% agree about the Hamskea Mounting Bracket being longer to fit 2 holes aswell as more set screws. I have put a 5/16 grub screw into the second riser hole so the set screw has something to grab onto. It actually fit right inside the 5/16 grub screw. And doesnt damage the riser either.

Me and my buddy had the honor of waiting for a couple hours for the Friday afternoon lift shut down from the lightning. They ened up shuttling people up in pickup trucks and we got to shoot in the monsoon and lightning. My buddy had his Hoyt blowup about target 21 so make that at least two bows that did that. As first timers it was interesting for sure, took the "challenge" part of it to whole new level with the conditions. Definitely looking forward to next year, now that we know what we are getting into. Great podcast chat!

Good morning from New Mexico. I have never commented on any social media but F it. I'm a big fan of all you guys Josh, Tim and Dan. Love that you guys started a new channel. I have learned so much from you guys and appreciate the knowledge that you're sharing. Also appreciate the discount code timc. Just bought a oneex thumb clicker, and that code was nice. Thank you boys.

Engineers work really hard to make what you tell them to. For most companies, that's what marketing tells them. They get sensitive on feedback because the specs they build to are not their ideas, but how they build to that spec is what they are proud of.

My Vapor Trail has been a tank. Best rest I have ever used. I don't get the QAD appeal. That cocking bull crap is a lost opportunity waiting to happen. I would go back to a Muzzy MZE rest before using any cable driven rest.

Had the same issue at Big Sky TAC with my Hamskea rest. The more moving parts the more opportunity for error!

Really liked the Trophy Taker Smack Down rest back in the day. Joe Bell, when he was editor for Bow and Arrow Hunting magazine, turned me onto it. I also tried a QAD, but it broke on me and wouldn't stay locked in the up/cocked position. Then I got a AAE DOA rest and loved it. That DOA is still on my 2007 Hoyt Vectrix. These days I'm more of a trad guy so I'm no longer familiar with what all is out there for compound accessories.

Well, I have been eyeballing the epsilon arrow rest for my Evo EVL. I do spot and stalk in northern Indiana. Lot of heavy brush in my area next to rivers. I was in the fence for QAD ( because literally everyone has one). Or the epsilon ( unicorn product lol). I just want something quiet for hunting. Reliable in all weather. And drops away. Currently I'm running a whisker, not had any issues in the past with it? Just looking to get a bit more accurate. As the whisker I feel can be a little inconsistent at times. Also, side note! I had a primer on my bow 3 shots through paper tiny horizontal slide, tiny elevated slide ( bullet hole) whisker required twists in the yolk to remove slight right tear in paper? Couldn't move rest and get it to go away. Awesome show thanks

2 things, could you please release an audio version for those of us who want to listen while driving but don’t/ can’t have the video going. 2nd, I know it’s a long way for you to go just for a 3D shoot, but the Pennsylvania Bowhunters Festival happens September 15-17, we would love to see you guys there. This festival is well over 50 years old and my family and I go every year.

To MFJJs point the epsilon with the universal bracket there are three set positions for the dovetail. The reason that there are three different positions is because different manufacturers have different riser thicknesses otherwise, instead of having three different epsilon rests, they would’ve had seven different total and people having to measure the riser depth or shops would have to “know” which other option they need with the universal bracket

Gravity has the exact same effect on an object regardless of weight your arrow dropping less is a function of the speed not weight. The drop time is the same your arrow just covered more ground in said time

Great podcast and good honesty. I wish people would have listened about this joke of a rest. That thing is so poorly engineered that a shop has to correct the defect that people are all paying for. They are not good Engineers at all if they put this crap out.

Speaking as an engineer withe over 30 years of experience, there are only 2 kinds of engineers. Those that will only listen to another engineer and those who are will listen to anyone. One out of four are the first kind. Hamskea clearly needs to find one of the other kind. Just ask Joel Turner about his idea about a thumbbutton with a click. Stan has an engineer of the right kind and Stan's going to profit nicely because of it.
