Heroes of the Storm (HotS) is a raucous online team brawler starring your favorite Blizzard characters.
Ragnaros, the Firelord, is a melee Bruiser Hero from the Warcraft universe. Ragnaros is a powerful Bruiser who can sow the seeds of destruction in a team fight or simply when defending his team's forts. Ragnaros is a unique addition to the Nexus Hero pool thanks to his ability to take over allied Forts or destroyed Forts with his trait, Molten Core. Seizing control of a Fort grants him a new set of Abilities that allow him to defend against the enemy's siege or lay waste to an enemy Town in an allied push.

tip for sulfuras smash: it works best if you use it while you are in molten core and there's a fight around you. Your Q and your R aren't on global cooldown together, so you can know your Q is going to stun or your E is going to slow, then drop the R on them when they are unable to dodge.

Man I remember Ragnaros on release. His Q was so overkill that he can fight 3-4 different heroes at a time. It was in a video from HOTS Highlights (R.I.P)

I've played Q build a lot when I have tank+bruiser+reghar on the enemy team or when i play inm volksaya map. Thing is, it ramps up slowly, you don't see a lot of value before 16 when compared to the other 2 builds and it only works for specific situations. But in these situations, oh boy does it work splendindly! You start melting the enemy frontline. That's one of the problems too though, you are hard-frontliding with Q build and that gets dangerous especially if they have some hard hitters. With E build you are essentially flanking and picking out the squishies with a sulfuras and they die. With W, you can poke like mad if u choose to do so. But Q requires for you to be in the thick of it and not a lot of people understand how to play these fights. It's like Greymane, when you go in you stay in until either you die or the enemy does. To stack your Q quickly, toss a W on the enemy minion wave before it reaches your minions so it hits them all equally while they are still lined up. Then do an E right in the middle, instantly Q the mage , don't attack anything else and Q again. That guarantees mage+archers+1 or 2 melee minions per wave so 5-6 stacks per wave. For all Raganros Q enjoyers, take the invunlerable at 20, it's a literal life saver.

I feel like pally is a bit conservative with popping R in these fights. In my experience its really strong against teams like this if you use it whenever enemies are moving towards or away from you. And its so likely to miss you dont need to worry ahout wiffing with an earky cast

if you can arrange it a super strong use of lava wave is to time it with a team or objective push, solely for the zoning. You and team gets to wall, wave is like 3 seconds behind you. Beat their building then use trait. if done right its an extra long team push with huge zoning danger from Rag.

Actually played Ragnaros last night. Was meatball build, but for the first half of the game the q was doing far more damage in team fights. Of course, then I finished my quest and the meatball was decimating enemy teams.

I would have done lava wave here. I only pick sulfuric smash with maps with disproportionately high priority map objectives that are contained in small areas. Such as towers of Doom, battlefield of eternity and inferno shrines.

As it turns out, hard-focusing a single member of the enemy team above actually dealing with the enemy team as a whole tends to go poorly. Even if that member is a streamer. Who woulda guessed? Seriously, everytime Pally gets sniped/focused by a team, he almost always ends up winning, cuz his team just... plays the game properly lmao. MFPallytime out here makin' some MFSpace.

I definitely prefere sizzling attacks before the 2 hero hits, it gives the extra damage to heroes every 10 econds more reliably than q, the only difference is it not healing you.

Pally I rarely play HOTS these days but killing ragnaros is a pretty normal play. You think about the wave clear, damage, trait combo you get with him and whats his downside ? Squishy with low mobility.... If Rag was super survivable he'd be more annoying than Hogger 1 shotting waves and rotating freely.
