I loved your video. You live in a sea kayaker's paradise, indeed. What beautiful weather and calm seas.

Thank you Murph! Yes we were very fortunate to have such good weather and are very fortunate to live near this large and beautiful archipelago.

What a stunning trip. Thank you for sharing. Myself and two friends are setting off from Wales, Uk to kayak around these islands on the 8/9/24 for an 11 day adventure. Again thank you, hopefully we’ll have some good weather 🤞

Thank you for your feedback! We were very fortunate regarding the weather on our trip but the weather is unfortunately pretty terrible this week 😫. Next week seems a bit better with less rain and wind. I feel sorry for you guys coming here when the weather is this poor. Hope you get at least some decent days!🤞

Thanks you for your reply. We have been camped on Norda Berghan, east of Runo. for two nights now and hoping for calmer waters tomorrow. This is proper Welsh weather.

@@bheard2767 Looks like tomorrow will be decent. A bit windy but sunny till noon and no rain until 7pm-ish. Destination tomorrow?

We spent last night at Hemholmen and tonight we are on Moja. Sweden is spectacular although mostly deserted at this time of the year. The warmth of the welcome from those still on the islands has been superb. Tomorrow we are kayaking to Trasko Storo.

Thanks for the update and Í´m glad my fellow Swedes are behaving themselves 😊. Where are you heading now? Any plans to go to any of the outer parts of the archipelago? Hope your getting some decent weather…

What kind of tent did you use? I assume you couldn't alwasy pitch it with tent pegs. Thanks for shareing your experience.
@mfred24 ай бұрын
Your most welcome! Both of us own and use dome tents (typically for 2-3 people) since they are so easy to set up on the flat rock surfaces which are abundant in our archipelagos. Even if there is some forest or grass areas to camp on, we prefer flat rock surfaces since we leave no trace and is also a good way to avoid getting ticks. Some backpacking tents are also self-supporting and are often used by solo campers. Self-supporting tents don't require tent pegs to stay up in calm weather (but are typically needed to withstand more wind). Tent lines and the other teachers can be attached to tent pegs stuck into soft ground, or tent pegs placed under heavy rocks or simply be tied to suitable branches. Mountain climbing style pegs can sometimes be placed in rock cracks. You can read more about tent types here www.curated.com/journal/6000/what-are-the-different-types-of-tents Sorry if I'm too 'wordy'!
