I don't really like reining. It looks painful for the horses. I wont ever do that in my life time

The whole point of reining is to use very little contact, while maintaining clear cues. If you are talking about the spurs, she is just tapping the horse with them, not jabbing them into its sides. To me, this horse doesn't appear to be in any pain at all.

Well they can if you get harsh with them I have seen English blunt spurs leave cuts in there sides.
