I agree that Punk had some good rivalries and matches during that reign, but the problem was that he was the WWE Champion yet always a second fiddle, and the most important thing is that he never main-evented in PPVs except for 1 or 2. The prime example; At Extreme Rule 2012, Punk defended WWE Champion against Daniel Bryan but was not in the main event, and do you know who main evented in that PPV? was John Cena vs A fu**ing "John Laurinaitis" 🤦‍♂️.

Hot Take on the Hot Take, Punk 434 Day reign was more memorable than you thought. Vince’s booking of never putting his matches in the main event hurt it. First few months I would get, but, a fun feud w/Jericho, Bryan and the AJ twist to it, Cena feud when Punk turned heel fully (mid title run) was very good. Ryback at HIAC was a setback, but, the triple threat at Survivor Series debuted the Shield which was significant. A TLC meh match with Ryback wasn’t good, but, then the Rock feud which was great. Add Heyman to the mix during this time too… more memorable at least IMO than some y’all give it credit for

5 great matches don’t make a 400 day title reign good. The Jericho feud overall was pretty underwhelming. I remember nothing from their mania build except for jericho saying punk stole his catchphrase. The only memorable thing from that program came after mania when Jericho forced punk to drink alcohol. The feud against Bryan was good, but it focused more on aj lee and her antics than the title. The Cena program could also have been way better if they didn’t shove big show into their summerslam match and cena hadn’t been injured in the build to hell in a cell.

I think gunther should have priest almost beat during their match then have finn cash in and pin priest using the justification that the title needed to stay within the judgement day. This would eventually lead to damians face turn where he can win it back from finn a few months later. Also think it's a good way to keep the title off of gunther for now cus we know when he does get it hes holding it forever but this allows us to have a few title changes before that.

My pitch for a little while, like most people’s, was for Priest to hold his briefcase for the entire year until this year’s MITB. However, for this year, the show would have started with the WHC match with Priest cashing in and winning. And the main event would have been the men’s ladder match with Balor winning. You start and end the show with a conclusion and an introduction at the start and end of the show respectively. You get to rerun the story from last summer where Balor was worried Priest would cash in on him on his chase for the WHC, with the roles now being reversed with even bigger stakes since one of them is now the champion. You also further the concept of Rhea not being their as the pseudo leader and judgement day falling out of proportion without her level headedness as a result. There’s still ways around this since Balor’s the heavy favorite to win the briefcase, Rhea still not there, and Priest is the champion, but either way I’m excited for MITB this year.

If we're saying ROH is influential because of the talent they provided, then we can also say that Chikara, PWG, CZW, GCW, and most other indie promotions are just as influential as ECW, and that's just ridiculous. The reason ECW was influential was NOT because they gave us wrestlers. It was because they influenced the wrestl-ING. The reason the hardcore title existed, was because of ECW. The reason thumbtack spots exist, was because of ECW. The reason table spots exist, is because of ECW. The reason CZW and GCW exist, was because of ECW. ROH produced a FEW wrestlers, notably KO, Sami, and Danielson. But the vast majority of ROH standouts actually honed their skills in Japan through Bullet Club or through early TNA days. Bryan Danielson also didn't invent technical wrestling, he just improved on it. I'm sorry but there is no match in AEW or WWE where you can say, "That's an ROH thing."

I'm not a fan of repeat Rumble winners (even if it is my man Drew) but I really, really hope that at some point Drew wins in Scotland. "the hometown hero never wins in WWE" just isn't true. Punk won both the IC & WWE titles in Chicago; Nakamura won the NXT title in Osaka; Bulldog & Regal both won the IC title in England. Then he even stops carrying the briefcase around with him so we all forget he has it. Drew McIntyre then goes on to have a program against CM punk throughout the summer. Gunther wins the title and goes on to have his title reign. CM punk wins the feud against Drew McIntyre and is propelled towards the main event for wrestlemania. Gunther defends his title in the elimination chamber. (I know you're not going to like this bit. But it makes sense if the guy can come back. If not just change this bit for Bron breaker .) During the elimination chamber, Brock Lesnar rips the door off the chamber comes in and attack Gunther. Because Gunther has been doing a lot of media where he says he would love to show his dominance over the beast. Brock Lesnar costs Gunther his title setting up their wrestlemania match. Seth Rollins wins the elimination chamber to face CM punk at wrestlemania 41. CM punk wins that match and he stands with his belt held high. When the ultimate hypocrite comes out and smashes him in the back of the head with the briefcase. In less than five minutes, Drew McIntyre cashes in and becomes the world champion at wrestlemania That is what I would do with money in the bank.
