It's a great car but saying it caused other car companies to drop their price isn't correct as price fluctuations were due to other external factors. Everyone I know who has driven the MG4 loves it.

I spent the last 8 weeks obsessively watching videos, reading reviews and test driving if EVs in this class. I have to say that this is the only review that says the MG4 is cramped in the rear seat, it is not, in fact it has more room than a lot of its competitors. Also it’s not true that “many” people test driving the MG4 have been disappointed, at least not here in the uk wear sales are through the roof. Unusually ALL uk reviewers found it hard to find fault with the car and in fact many have named it EV of the year. I have been so impressed with it that I have ordered one of the top line ones. Make your own mind up, research for your self but I would say that this particular reviewer is bias and I’m guessing that they have not seen the car in the metal so have guessed at quite a few points. From being someone who has drove both I would say that both cars are really great and pretty similar however the MG4 has a more exciting driving experience as well as a much cheaper price tag and 7 year warranty. Please did further and drive before you buy

Just got an MG4 SE long range. It is excellent. But it’s CHINESE.

To be clear, MG are now a Chinese brand owned by SAIC. MG are a budget brand and has very little to do with the UK now. The video contained various errors, but hey 🤷‍♂️

You mean a value for money? It's both cheap in comparison and quality. If MG are a budget brand BMW, Fors and Mercedes etc are a ripoff brand?

@@justbrowsing7565 A budget brand doesn't imply anything bad. A budget brand has material costs pared back, cheaper plastics, less sound insulation, more basic suspension technology, thinner paint etc. A budget brand isn't first class travel. However it can be very good, it can be just what you're looking for. A Mercedes, BMW, Rolls Royce even cover all the basics like a budget brand but then go on to lavish money in every area to provide and increasingly higher quality product. You pays your money and takes your choice. The right choice will be what you can afford and is appropriate to you and the situation, MG in many ways and providing what Ford used to do, possibly even better. Attainable class and quality for the masses for a price that makes it a realistic proposition. What might be a bitter pill to swallow is the fact MG are a sub brand of SIAC a large Chinese company and the Chinese government have a very different political, moral and ethical agenda to many of us. Incidentally a premium brand could also be value for money, but it wouldn't be classed as a budget brand where cost has a higher priority

@@justbrowsing7565 it's difficult to answer that. VW is a much higher quality vehicle, however their latest ev's use cheaper materials. KIA/HYUNDAI without question are of higher quality. I've owned a car made by Kia, Hyundai and currently own an MG ZS ev. The MG is perfectly fine, though there's a lot of cost cutting evident. The current Kia and Hyundai ev's are some of the best in the market and are double the price of an MG. Kia and Hyundai and most definitely NOT budget cars

The Brits are fanatics about their 'hot-hatches.' If MG brings out a sports model of the MG-4. Sales will go through the roof. Ford use to own this market in the UK.
