The 3.0 is the biggest piece of crap ever. Not having a core fighter changes everything and makes a much solid kit.

Thank you so much for reviewing this. I don't have any MG scaled Gundam kits yet and this is one of the ones I've been eyeing now for a while. I'm a big fan of the RX-78-2 and I love this representation. I have to ask: which panel lining technique did you use? Did you use a thin Gundam marker or was it a wash like Tamiya's panel line paint? The lines look really clean on this.

+KrytiosSoto I used Gundam Real Touch markers. The ink is kind of thin, like a wash, but it comes out of a tip. I really like the no-mess control that it offers. I wipe off the excess with an uncolored napkin for a natural fade. I've found HLJ to typically have the best availability and prices on these markers: hlj.com/scripts/hljlist?GenreCode2=all&Word=real+touch&x=0&y=0 Set 01 and 02 will cover basically everything you need, but there are a lot of options.

Hi @Citrus, I have a question regarding the decals for this kit. in the kit there are 2 rectangle sheets of decals. One sheet is the stand light green colour which i have seen in almost all model kits. The other is a clear sheet that has a baking paper like back sheet to it. my question is the second sheet (clear sheet) does it work the same as the first sheet? in other words, do i just add water. thanks

Don't use water with either set of decals. The green sheet is normal sticker. The white sheet is dry transfer. The manual includes instructions for how to use them.

+ApocStrike I use Rust-Oleum Painter's Touch Ultra Cover 2X matte clear. It goes on really well with just one coat. You should be able to find it at your local hardware store.

One more question if is not to much to ask; after your review i fell in love with this model but what i love the most is that orange look instead of the regular Gundam yellow; does this orange comes standard with the original release? Every time i look at pic fir this kit it shows up yellow not orange. Thank you in advance and thank you for a great review 👍

ApocStrike The plastic does have a slight orange tint to you, but you can really bring it out if you use an orange marker to line it. This is the same trick that's used on GFF figures to make their yellows pop.

Hi, im a little bit confuse about rx-78, because there's so many versions rx-78. Between rx78 oyw animated color and rx78 oyw standard and rx78 v.3 and rx78 origin, can you help me to choose which one is worth it to buy?

Any of the three are great, but I believe 3.0 has the most parts, OYW has the least. Just pick whichever looks best to you!

Subbed! And a question (opinion): I have to choose one of two RX-78-2 gundams. Is my first one, and I love RX-78-2, but I don´t know if spend extra in the spensive one, because I see this model is awesome and cheaper. The models are: this one (OYW) or RX-78-02 The Origin 1/100 with leds and everithing, you know. ¿What do you think I should do? ¿Should I spend more and get the ¨The origin¨ or this OYW version is perfect for my 1/100 collection?. Sorry for my english, I´m from Argentina. Regards! and thanks!

I´m new in Gundam, but I have several years building kits, even 2000 pieces ultra detailed jets. ¿What do you think? There is my problem, because I think that I can spend less in the OYW and make a stunning finish. But The Origin has this awesome Leds! I don´t know :(

Sharpie ink is thick, so the lines won't look very fine or clean unless you thin it out.

Probably not, even if you buy one today. The plastic-on-plastic joints are easy to thicken without much risk of damage.

The only models that should have those features are the mobile suits with movable frames, where the armor was integrated directly into the frame.
