She presents it in a bad light because she wants you to buy a more expensive VW or Mercedes via her website, so that they then get a larger cut from the dealer for displaying their car on the Carbuyer website. In fact, in every single VW review they commend the use of the badge as a boot opener.

Pretty poor review. Just test drove one of these. The dash she touches is soft touch and pretty good. The boot opening the badge was commended on a VW review. As for bringing 2012 driver power results into a review 6 years later on a totally different car is pretty poor to say the least. Lazy research, lazy lacklustre review. Expect better from Car Buyer.

Not as many freebies handed out to the hacks by MG. Money talks, always has and always will. Charge someone twice the price for the same product, and the last thing they want to hear or believe is that the two products are nigh on (under the badge) much the same.

Its just the car looks meh. Very uninspiring design with a horrible interior with a god awful manual gearbox (i've only driven a limited amount of cars with the fiesta being the most fun i've had with imo) There are just so many other options which you could buy on the used market for similar prices if you take the hit of owning a car which is a few years old

Only 3 stars on euroncap and not because of the safety tech, the occupant protection is no better then a 2008 fiat 500 and that is saying a lot.

If you look at the actual crash test report, it only got 3 star, but the car did OK in itself, it got heavily marked down for not having a load of electronic idiot aids, like the stuff that if your busy typing a message on your phone stops you crashing into the stopped car in front. NCAP seems to have accepted that there are many such morons behind the wheel now and expect the car to compensate. Happy to accept the lower price without the aids and take responsibility for driving myself, managed not to hit anything in over a million miles so far....

Hi! Great review!! Hyundai quotes the usable battery in their spec sheet right? Can you tell me how much the usable battery in the MG is? In comparison to kona 39.2 kwh, would you consider this a better car? They cost the same in my country. I know MG has more space and is practical, but that is not a priority for me. Thanks a lot!

Hm, I will answer my own question. As relates to MG I have just crawled out from under a rock - thanks, Google - it seems this is the direction for the past +10 years under new ownership. Silly me. Now I have to wonder if, as re-badging of cars go, it is a good strategy to switch segment. What say those who know?

MG has not stood for small sportscars for nearly 20 years. Their most successful models have been hatchbacks and saloons. What hurts the today is that feeling that they are just not quite finished and that the engines are poor. Even this new 1.0 seems sluggish and expensive. SAIC must know that to truly succeed you need your own, good range of engines. They've had over well over 10 years now and still little sign of decent engine progress.

Sorry every reviewer does the same thing when it comes to rear legroom... I am 6ft 7. Mostly very long legs I have the seat in most cars all the way back no reviewer I have seen states where the front seat position is when they adamantly say "lots of rear legroom" I have a 67 plate Zafira my oldest son (6ft.2) cannot sit behind me due to lack of legroom . All reviews on the Zafira state "lots of rear legroom".

Peter McGregor both probably. In fact she says the car is rubbish driving in town, on hinghways you get the benefit of the audio like riding in a hooded down car and reliability is poor. Conclusion the car only benefits the dealer and mechanic.

Just a question, I thought MG went bankrupt but they didn't? Because I'm looking to buy a car and I really like the 2002 ZS and the 2004 and 2006 ZR but people told me not to buy them because it's incredibly hard to find parts because MG went bankrupt.

I don't care about the fact they're owned by Shanghai Automotive, they seem to be doing a pretty great job on making cars, compared to their earlier efforts (SH760 *cough*) I'm looking forward to more of these. hondatrix time will tell, they were good during the bmw ownership, nothing special but as a former rover 75 /mg zt owner it was more solid and reliable than everyone said.
