Important Update / Correction for ACC & TJA!!! ACC & TJA at complete stop - 30s standby period. After continuous driving and testing (counting numbers in my head in Auckland traffic😆), I have found that the standby period for MG4 all variant is actually 30 seconds (not 3 seconds as I explained in the video). That means when the MG4 comes to a complete stop following a vehicle on ACC/TJA, it will automatically resume ACC/TJA if the lead vehicle moves within 30 seconds. The driver will not need to do anything at all. If the MG4 comes to a complete stop on ACC/TJA and stayed for more than 30s, the driver will then need to press the accelerator or resume button on steering.

Hi Jerry. Greetings and thanks from Oz! Took delivery of an Essence 64 last week. Wonderful car and I/we have to admit being able to watch your videos for a few weeks before delivery was a great help. Our old car was 13 years "young" and didn't have any "wizbang" electronics. Good video, always learning new stuff about the 4. My speed limit recognition also picks up “some” State Highway Number shields i.e. on SH20 it will recognise the red shield with white ‘20’ and display that as the limit…. While I’m at 100 🤦♂️ unfortunately doesn’t read the digital variable speed signs on the Auckland motorway system, which would be handy.

@JerryPanandCars Жыл бұрын
1.5 turbo is a lot more powerful than 1.5L non turbo. Turbo gives much more torque and that’s how technology advances. Manufacture cannot bullshit tech specs. Drive the car and you will be able to tell. My research also says 224Nm on 2.4L 2006 Camry.

I wish the car would remember some of the settings. This is one of the biggest downsides for me. I very much doubt e.g. driving mode setting has anything to do with the safety ratings. Also, I have heard the lane keeping assist can suddenly try drive you to the ditch with quite agressive turning of the wheel if the lane markings are not the best - such a pain if you have to remember to turn it off to drive safely just so that the manufacturer can get the safety rating and you essentially drive dangerously because of this. If the setting will not be saved, at least the manufacturer should put in the resources needed to make it operate up to standard! I wonder how it will work in e.g. snowy conditions. Love the car, but the seemingly a bit dangerous assist systems need some work.
@JerryPanandCars Жыл бұрын
Drive mode goes back to default is certainly not related to the safety rating but MG isn't the only brand who does this. It is fairly easy to personalize the drive mode button so one click would do the work.
Жыл бұрын
@@JerryPanandCars Great video - however, I only agree to a certain point here. All due respect, its not one click! Its many steps: 1) Take your eyes of the road, 2) "swipe to settings", 3) "click mg pilot", 4) "find setting for pilot mode" 5) "click the TJA or ACC". 6) Then click back. - All this is easily achieved when parked, but you need this while driving, such as driving in to a TRAFFIC JAM!!! situation, with cars everywhere! :) Switching Tja / ACC should be accessible _directly_ from the star/favourite button on the left, so I dont have to take my eyes of the road :) Not hidden in some submenu. I know; You can put "Driving Settings" on the favourite button, true, but you still have to click MG Pilot and then locate ACC or TJA. STILL you have to take your eyes off the road. So Stupid. Its a fantastic car and I love it, but please stop defending stupid implementations from lack of real life testing.
@JerryPanandCars Жыл бұрын
@ I thought my previous comment was regarding drive mode selection going default normal. That has nothing to do with ACC / TJA. ACC / TJA doesn’t go back to one setting default. As long as you have set it up when it is parked, it will memorise your setting even if you switch off and on again.
