Yes, agreed about the contrast! I'm on the verge of ordering one through my employers EV scheme here in the UK. Seems a performance bargain. My only slight concern is the range.

@SupersportR true, the range is not that great, but good enough for just daily commuting. I believe it's UK car of the year? That says something about this EV 🙂

I drive hard all the time , I will have to work out one pedal mode , love the leaf for the e pedal , engage all the time as a shift down to help me reduce speed, thanks your video is very good 👍🏼

I just got mine, my daily is a volvo c40 twin motor. I love the MG X power more, though the volvo has more Torque, it is like 500kg heavier and has 20 inch wheels. I prefer the accelerator tuning on the Mg4, feels far more linear and honestly less electric and more ICE. I cant wait to put some more miles on this.

Very good and balanced review. I have one of these arriving in a few days via a company car scheme. Decided on white after watching this! If I was spending my own money I would have gone with a used Type R FK2 / FK8 or similar gen car. Maybe this will convert me to electric. Thanks

@GrooveSelective I also have a FL5 Type R, the TR is definitely a much better car, in a different league compared to the MG4. But for a EV, the MG4 handles pretty well, and you can have some decent fun on backroads

@@sundaymorningdrives thanks for the reply, the FL5 is an awesome looking machine and definitely at the top of my list if I end up going back to ICE in future. I absolutely love the civic type R in all gens. For now the boost of the xpower will have to suffice!

I got mine in black a few days ago. I have to say, the black looks amazing. It gives it a batmobile vibe 🤣. Great car though, the acceleration will never not be fun. I was at the lights with a ford focus st and he went to floor it, i absolutely destroyed him and couldnt stop laughing. That aside it is comfortable, quiet, nice cabin and a good looking car which is cheap to own and run. It is everything you could want from a car.

I have owned an MG4 X Power for just on a month. My main gripe is the alleged range V what i'm actually getting -25 to30% and i'm using Eco. What set of circumstances are required to obtain the range claimed when i purchased? Down hill with a tail wind? Apart from that i am extremely happy with how this car drives.

I think this is the case for most EVs, range depends on a lot of factors, highway driving seems to give you less range, also depends on the atmospheric temperature, how much electronics and A/C you are using etc. 😀

ICE sport cars are good at sprint to 100kmh if LC is activated...but who uses LC on public road everyday ...

@naszadynastia that is very true, same thing goes for electric cars also. LC is pretty much a gimmic that not many people use

The cornering is actually not that bad, considering it's not really designed for extreme performance, it's the brakes that might give you trouble, you drive yours pretty hard?
