The Mg43 is a Pretty good weapon. Yeah it's a little clunky sure but the medium damage pen is great. Run it with the ammo backpack and mow everything down.

The MG43 is a beast. I agree. Chews through rocket devastators like nobodies business. Great idea rolling with the supply pack. Almost unlimited ammo. Could see rolling supply pack, MG43 and the Diligence Sniper rifle. Range, power and resources, all in one package.

I love this gun for crowd control and for close up engagements. This gun has saved me more than once where others have failed. Also it makes me feel like rambo.

Brash Tactics: If you're having trouble with the drag, try firing from the hip while crouched or prone. Also if you're having trouble with ammo conservation, keep the rate of fire at 650 rather than 900.

I’ve been using this gun paired with heavy armor and a supply pack on Helldive difficulty. It mows down everything except for hulks but a well placed stun grenade can allow you to get behind them and blow them up. It’s incredibly underrated

the MG43 has some serious power behind it. You're not wrong there. If I'm honest, I find it hard to see the line between the difference of the new 105 (I think that's what it's called?) and the 43.

I feel like it serves a similar role to the grenade launcher in its crowd control ability and kills fewer in the same period of time. It's a little inflexible and too punitive compared to other options. It's more effective against soft targets where the GL does it all. By comparison. It needs a belt connected to a backpack and a 1200 rpm and then and only then would it possibly approach the other options at higher levels.

Great comparison. The Grenade Launcher has some great uses but definitely falls into a more niche crowd.

Given its name and high fire rate, I think a comparison to the MG42 or MG3 would’ve been more apt than the one you made to the M240b

I agree and disagree. the muzzle flash on the MG43 can really washout what you're aiming at. However, at the same time, I do feel like it is easier to control in FPS/ADS mode than over the shoulder.

Against bots I’ve found the ballistic shield to be actually be quite effective when paired with the MG. By having the shield in the back you can easily retreat to a covered position to reload without worrying too much about shots to your back. If you do reload in the open the shield will actually protect the majority of your body from behind allowing you to prep a belt with little to no issues. Though it won’t help against rocket podsZ

Love the shield too. Definitely underappreciated, imo.

I definitely find myself using the grenade launcher more, quicker reloads and is still good against medium-armor enemies (brood commanders, spewers, automaton walkers) and since I carry a punisher with my loadout I don't have to worry about the devestators

also you can one shot the automaton walkers i mentioned, just shoot upper-shield and youll blow the pilot apart through the front

Excellent feedback. We're going to walk through the pro/con of each weapon/stratagem. I like the grenade launcher. Great for bug holes. Coming across large patches of Automatons, it's heaven-sent. Just rocking those groups with it. I think the AOE could be a tad bigger? or same size but more powerful? just a smidge.

@@20MG I think the grenade launcher serves its purpose, which is nest clearing, crowd control, and light-medium armor. It does exactly what it says it does.

Another problem is we only get one pack of ammo when we get the resupply. Stalwart have 2 packs, Heavy have 2 packs too, and Mechine gun????

Yeah that's a fair point. I didn't consider that when looking into the cons of the machine gun. The amount of ammo that you receive on resupplies can certainly impact wanting to take it or not. Great feedback.

Similar to the M240B? I always saw the m43 as more like a modern version of Russia's PKM lmg.

You're probably more accurate in design type. I wasn't trying to do an apples to apples comparison in that way. I was just trying to address that it is a medium crew served weapon. Such as the 240b, MG3, M60, pkm, rpd, etc

It's got a really high rate of fire. I did a German's marksmanship badge when I was in the cavalry, and we got to shoot the g36 the p8 and the MG3. If the mg42 is anything like the mg3, which it should be LOL they were almost perfect replicas of each other, it's a pretty wild gun LOL I did enjoy shooting it though but I didn't feel it was as accurate as helldivers mg43 LOL

@@Kaiser_von_Europa not really? There is the Sickle, which is a full-auto Rifle. It's pretty good. But not full scale MG's. Not yet.

Why do you say it's useless? Chews through medium tier enemies very easily.
