Thanks for this video. I had an issue with a trunk lid and fisheyes that came through from a previous paint when there was some cold and damp. It took me three strip back and repaints to get it right. However, this video answered a lot of questions I still had about application thickness and wetness, so I am really grateful for this video, for next time when I am going to be painting and a first time on another car with metallic paint. Retirement is a great time to learn this stuff. Great video, thank you so much for showing this and particularly that problem area.

Thanks awalk! I'm glad your watching. you'll aways have something to learn when it comes to this kind of stuff. I aways mess something up 😊. Hope to hear from you again soon. Good luck with your painting projects!

@@junksautomotive I will keep watching as even at my age there is always something new to learn. Here in UK it is a bit cold to paint until maybe March next year. If I dont learn something new every day I think the day is wasted. I'm only 72 years old.

@awalk5177 That's awesome! Some day I will retire... but it will be a working retirement! If I'm not doing something with myself every day, I'll wither away pretty quickly! Glad your watching. Talk soon! Cheers!

@@junksautomotive I was forced into retirement due to the pandemic, because my job involved travelling around Europe to client sites became impossible. I was 69 and had to stop. So now I just work on my cars.

My experience with painting is buying custom mixed auto paint in spray cans for motorcycle frames, bumpers, gastanks etc. I've done some 2 stage but I don't like it, I prefer single stage. I feel clear coat makes colors too reflective and takes away from the color appearance. This vid ought to save some of your viewers time on their projects. Good Luck 👍

If you buy an mil guage you should buy the Reese vs i have an video on it but it's spendy so be aware but comes with plates yo redial it in. I bought mine at homedepot. Also if you get an touch-up gun try for 2.0 tip Trigger man told me then the matalics will flow through. I have an video as well on an Dynastus 0.8 tip works great and only $30 on the Amazon! I shoot my door jambs with it when there's no matalics. Another older product that's good and I've not had issues with is the finish 1 lineup which advertises's as acme but is actually part of the Schwerin William's brand from my understanding. The dtm and clear are only $100.00 an gallon kit on Amazon as well.

@wrightsrrt871 I pained a fender for a guy and he brought me paint and clear from Finish 1. I thought it was pretty good from what I remember. Not sure I dig this Restoration Shop stuff 🤔 Glad you checked out the video. Good hearing from ya buddy!

@@junksautomotive yah i stopped buying resto shop brand and I also avoid the nason stuff as well not really liking them either I've moved on to shopline ppg now for base and I use alot of finish 1 or high-tech for primers.
