American born sya ... she's not just a queen, she is the empress of PH cinema...ika nga...of all the glorious and saintly descriptions on Ms Romero from many people who know her, one thing unforgetable of her as an actress was her portrayal of an aswang., She didn't mind playing that role despite her beauty. And she did it with flying color. LIPAD DARNA LIPAD brought to mind how she rubbed oil on her body and she turned into a scary flying vampire against Darna Ate Vi back in the 70s and after that another yet Aswang role in ANAK NG ASWANG. nobody yet has done such a convincing role than Ms Romero. Grabe !!! she is, indeed, the empress of Philippine cinema...

Even if she wasn't a National Artist, Ms. Gloria Romero will remain to be one of the greatest actresses of the Philippine Movie Industry and the Queen of Philippine Cinema.
