Im a frequent church goer in San Sebatian Church. Everyday ako nag sisimba. One time, maraming mga men in uniform sa paligid… si Pres Cory & Kris were inside the church pala. Kaharap ko si Kris, ganda ng kutis ni Kris. She was very young then. Praying she will get well soon.

I'm a lover of history. I was a Social Studies teacher. I'm retired. Watching these videos made me feel nostalgic. I love things, old structures and people of the past. These videos always made my day. Even if I'm not from Manila (from Cebu City) I always appreciate when you feature old Manila especially it's significant landmarks. Just sad that most of the young generations no longer have the interest and appreciation of these things. I hope Cebu City could also be featured here. 😊

The San Sebastian Church is marvelous! Gothic with spires, 64 to be exact. Per Wikipedia, it was built in 1891. As always, thanks for the tour.

I studied at CEU from K-Gr.3, I remember going/passing by San Sebastian church. It's nice to see some historical homes, I just wish they preserved it well. Here in the states, homes that were built around early 1900, they put a plaque by the front door that states who the original owner was & also the year the house were built. I never thought I'll see this on KZbin. I almost married the son of one of this SCION FAMILY. My heart skipped a bit. I left home bec. of my mom's disapproval. He asked me to run off with him, meaning mag tanan. Kaya lang, my mom warned me that she'll never take me back if I disobeyed her order. I lived a sheltered life. Instead, she sent me abroad and I never looked back. I'm very familiar with San Sebastian church and yes, this famous family owned several PAINTINGS. Hello sir, ung heritage house po sa tapat ng MLQU ay Ocampo-Santiago Mansion. The Ocampo-Santiago house sits on 963 R. Hidalgo St., and was built in 1850 as the residence of the Ocampo clan of Quiapo. The first generation owner Don Pablo Ocampo was the delegate to the Malolos Congress who later became Resident Commissioner to the United States.

I used to passed by there during my high school through college days during late '70s n '80s. That street was the end route for the jeepney plying Balic-balic v.v Quiapo. And so many jeepney were lined up there waiting for their turn to fill up passenger to go bck to Sampaloc Area. The area was so polluted of smog coming frm jeepneys that were lined up there. And your not going to like it to stay there for so long because of the heat n smog! That was how i remember it.

I really find it so tragic that these old structures are just left to decay, if only these homes were preserved to its old glory maybe our young can have a better glimpse of our past and a better understaning of our present. Its part of our history as well as our material heritage and should not be left just like that, but then we are a poor country, many Pinoys just live for today, not really having an appreciation of our history, that is maybe the reason why many cannot have e better direction for the future.

Protected structures ang mga 100 years old and above na mga gusali. Para sa akin, mas magaganda pa sa na at mas marami ang mga ito kesa dun sa mga antigong bahay sa Vigan. Dapat inaayos din mga ito at gawing mga museo kesa ibenta o ipa upa. Sana may mga mahihilig sa mga makasaysayang gusali at bahay na magka isip na gawing mala Vigan ang mga kalyeng ito.

The Nazarene School used to be the "Quiapo Parochial School". Talagang hiwalay na ang elementary and Highschool. White at Maroon pa uniforn noon. Isa sa mga favorite old mansion na lagi kong sina sightseeing noong 70s ay yung "Tuason" mansion. Ewan ko lang kung yung unang bahay/mansion nga ba iyon. It used to be an old office of the three Tuason brothers. A doctor, a lawyer, and an engineer. Kung papasukin mo yung kalye paloob sa may Paras mansion, nandon yung tirahan ng mga Nakpil. Correct me if I'm wrong. Napangasa ni Julio Nakpil na isang Katipunero ang byuda ni Gat.A. Bonifacio na si Gregoria De Jesus na kinupkop nya pagkatapos paslangin ang supremo ng Katipunan, at naging anak nila si Juan Nakpil, na famous architect. If you will go thoroughly around the perimeter of Quiapo, you will discover more Spanish and Commonwealth colonial mansions na mostly, napabayaan na. Baka nademolished na nga ang iba.
