Thank you for sharing and being real. Mistakes happen. I changed oil on my 74 B with my son and his sons (my two grandsons) “helping” me, and missed verifying that the oil filter seal came off with the old oil filter. It was a mess!

Many thanks for your comment - yes, mistakes happen in several videos and sometimes I leave them in if they're useful :-)

Very good. Pretty much applies to any vehicle. Being a cheapskate, I just use an old 5-litre plastic engine oil container with a rectangular cut-out in the side as a receptacale for the old oil, with the inevitable spills caught by scrap cardboard on the ground. Then carefully transferred the oil to another old 5l container - without a side cut-out, of course!

Put a screen in the red funnel, and you avoid fishing the drain plug out of the old oil in the Jug, if you drop it when you pull it out.

Many thanks for your comment - do you know, we actually removed the filter from the funnel and had exactly that thought when undoing the drain plug. Luckily I didn't drop it, but the filter is now in place for future oil changes!

One of other things that has caused me to have a garage floor full of oil; some oil filters will spin on and feel tight, but if you run your finger along the bottom it will be partially askew leading to all your oil spilling out on start up. Always make sure the filter is flush once installed, even if it felt correct going on. :)

With the filter removed I put a airline in the oil cooler pipe and blow the half litre through to the sump to drain..

Oil and filter change looks very good, just a point shouldn't you have 45 degrees dog leg shoulders on those HT leads instead sticking straight up.

Many thanks for your comment - These leads were recommended by Tim at Cambrian Classics a couple of years ago and I've had zero problems with them - why do you say I should have the dog-leg versions?

Spray that old oil into the cavities and the car will last for a 100 years!

Many thanks for your comment - Great idea, but I've just done a full Waxoyl / Lanoguard of the underside - video coming soon :-)
