MGF Toyosports Exhaust

How does it sound? We compare the old vs this new Toyosports stainless steel exhaust on the MGF VVC.
A couple things to note:
The car already has a 4-2-1 from Mike Satur fitted.
The footage of the original exhaust included a bit of rattling from a loose heat shield.
The footage of the new exhaust was taken after 150 miles of 'bedding in'.

To me the F's engine sounds much better than an MX5. The downside is they seem to need a lot more work and TLC than a Mazda might need, probably spent more time tinkering on mine than driving it. Also a lot rarer here in Australia. I took mine to a car meet yesterday and popped the bonnet for a laugh, noticed quite a few puzzled looks from people looking for an engine in there lol.

Great video! For anyone wondering about build quality. I got the full Toyosport exhaust system fitted on my MGF for about 6 years now (manifold, downpipe and back box). The experience has been great, the stainless steel still looks good, no cracks or problems at all. Did roadtrips, track days with it etc. It’s a solid exhaust with great sound, I would never go back to stock. It’s gotten slightly lower/louder over the years especially when the system is heated up after a drive. With the roof on, the low drone can be a little loud on long drives (could also be because I have a sports cat fitted it addition). Generally it’s a great quality and value for money exhaust.

Toyosports exhaust system makes it sound like a lightly tuned 4A-GE. A good sound all around

I've toyed with the idea of a sports exhaust on my TF and F for years. have never bothered, the sports exhaust sounds great but not sure it totally fits with the car. I have other noisier cars and I quite like the quieter B road blat. Food for thought though as both could be had for less than a TT (which marketing BS I don't like) and the others.

Is maintenance expensive? Love the look of these little cars and have been toying with the idea of buying one. Everyone discourages me from doing so but I doubt it's as bad as they say?

Brilliant before and after video well thought out... Just bought my first MG TF 135 and came with a sports exhaust, certainly ads drama...

Have done the same with my MGF, the original pipes make it sound like a tractor lol

man! i wish i still had my mgF, it was my 2nd car years ago and was great fun, whatever exhaust was fitted from previous owner sounded great. for rover cars they are great. i might have to get another one as like a weekend car. this exhaust sounds great

What do you think ? Was going to get one but I use mine daily so was not sure if it would be too loud at motorway speeds.
