MGM Resorts vs CAESARS Properties : Where Should You Stay on the Las Vegas Strip?

I gotta go with MGM. They have the only non-smoking hotel and casino on The Strip and I find their other properties to feel way less smoky in general. I really don't mind being a little south on The Strip. I'll take trams and walk up to like Treasure Island and The Venetian, then Uber back once per trip and I'm good. I've only heard nightmares about check in at Caesars and I feel like they overly rely on celebrity chefs as a draw. Give me Eataly any day over some Gordon Ramsey place that makes a slightly higher quality burger but it's $50, or whatever.

Right, hate to break it to people but those celebrity chef restaurants are just rebranded corporate restaurants … You an get far better quality food at MGM properties. Best burger on the strip is Holsteins….

I’m a budget person when staying in Vegas so I usually do MGM properties. I still think NYNY is one of the best food/price/location places. Food inside and around is cheap. Also you don’t have a long walk from your room to the strip

I have a local Caesar's property, so usually Caesars is the way to go for me. However, we've never stayed at NYNY and the rooms were somewhat recently renovated, so we are looking at possibly staying there in a couple months while they are still fresh!

Yeah Juan at the LINQ made me and all my guest pay $60 early checkin when we came in Thursday morning. Said check back in at 1pm and still charged us

Great comparison. Caesars Diamond also comes with an annual $100 Celebration meal. It can be used at any Caesars property. Usually use it in Las Vegas but did use it in 2019 Harrah's Resort San Diego.

I absolutely agree about MGM properties and the food they have so much of a better assortment then Caesars we just stayed at the linq and made a pact that we were only going to eat on Caesars properties and yeah it wasn’t good!

At least MGM properties typically don't flood and have good security, unlike Caesars properties who have a history of doing the opposite.

Hi Jay! This video brought back some nice memories of being Harrah’s Diamond 5 years running. I may have been Caesars for the last year of the run, don’t remember it’s been awhile. Given you are now Diamond, have you checked out and will you review the Diamond Lounges at the various properties. I sincerely doubt you’ll be able to video inside them but maybe you can summarize afterwards from your room. Based on your clothing I’m guessing this video was made a good while ago, LOL. Oh, you should be able to bring in one guest to the lounge so Dadcation or Mama G sound appropriate! Fun video!

No mention of Mandalay Bay’s pool? It’s a favorite of mine, and the property deserves a little love! I’ve been mostly MGM over the last 10 years or so. Really Caesars’s Palace and Planet Hollywood are the only Caesars’s properties I’ve stayed and gone back to.

I stayed at the Rio at the end of June, it did offer free parking and I didn't have any kind of rewards or anything. They also had a kiosk where you could check in, i chose to wait in line and talk to someone though because I wanted to get as high of a floor as possible.

I'd rather stay at Wynn,Resorts World, or the Venetian the service at MGM and Caesars has gone down hill for years. Station casinos is another option for me, Red Rock and the soon to be open Durango blow anything MGM and Caesars will ever offer you for the money.

Mgm properties have better comps and its alot easier to get free rooms. I used to b down with Caesars but once I did Aria and Bellagio theres no going back to Caesars. Personally outside of Caesars my favorite Caesars property was Planet Hollywood.

Rio is either no longer a caesars property or soon won’t be. Like TI and Circus Circus, it’s not owned by Caesars or MGM and is it’s own animal.

I couldn't remember the last time I stayed at a Caesar's property. I'm either staying at MGM's properties or Resorts World when I was in Vegas the last few years. I'm heading back this October and will be staying at Delano, another MGM property. Lol!

I have always wanted to stay at the Cosmo, I am planning an August trip for my Birthday. I have a full week comp'd at Ceasars Properties though, they handled their hacking issue faster, and have not increased their resort fees unlike MGM, therefore Ceasars wins. I will just visit the Cosmo instead of staying

You didn't even mention about the mini-fridges in the rooms at Caesars. That's a huge plus for many guests. MGM charges extra for those.

MGM hands down, even with all their quirks and problems they still have a good track record with me personally…. Never had issues with early check in or late check out with MGM due to my Amex status. Ceaser's and their entire nickel and dime mentality is just off putting, and every room review I see of Caesar's properties they are low to mid tier quality at best… I can get a better room by the airport honestly. The check in process in itself looks like a Shitshow…No thanks, my time is far more valuable than trying to get a hot deal on a $49.00 a night room. Nothing Caesar's owns really appeals to me, maybe if I was 21 and still in my party phase and budgeting was more prominent factor in my vacation choices.
