When I was younger my dad would drive me around the yard in his wheel barrel, while I wore his oversized sunglasses with a sprite in my hand, I’m 12 now and I’m the last one of 3 that’s still with them. I remember my dad would sit outside under the carport and drink a cold drink, while my mom would sit next to him and talk to him, all the while I played in the yard, oblivious to the fact that it won’t be like this forever, ever since my mom became permanently disabled (she can move ok but she can’t do any physical work), I’ve tried to spend more time with them, and as of two days ago, I went and sat outside with my dad, he was drinking a cold beer and listening to this song, and this was the first time I had heard it in years, as a child I heard him listen to it but I never listened to the words. Therefore, you can imagine the major realization I had when I listened to the lyrics, I suddenly realized how much gray was on his head, and how many wrinkles he had on his face, there wasn’t much of both but, there was none when he drove me around in the wheel barrel. I’m literally in tears now as type this, it makes me come to realize that one day, before I know it, I’m going to be packing my bags, and leaving them to live my own life.

first heard this song back in 2012 on the radio, riding back roads with my brother in law drinking a beer, i was 16. The future seemed so bright and everything just fell into place, before my actual brother died, and before i realized just how cruel the world truly is. im 23 now and this song now encapsulates even more the reeling feeling that youll never get the best years of your life back so make them count, and always show love no matter how grim the circumstance, it will all pay off in the end. i had to learn that the hard way. hopefully some reading this comment will understand, control yourself.

This song makes me so sad- When I listen to this it makes me think of playing with my older brother. Going outside- Playing in the rain- Ruining our handed down clothes- How I always lost teeth by tripping over stuff- and just laughing and showing off my gum while it still bled, instead of crying. It makes me also happy, that my personality never changed. I’m just smarter, and a lot older. But I still have the mind of a giggly little child. And I’m happy about that. For me this song brings to mind the Internet and how much freedom there was in its early days... Everything was just pure. Lawless, but pure! People spoke their minds, uploaded and downloaded without consequence... A virtual utopia. A place you could come to get away from all the BS in life. Remember ad-free KZbin with almost no moderation/censorship/copyright? Just freedom... R.I.P

The feels- I cant- and since everyone else being all nostalgic; I miss the days where everyone in my estate, me and my friends, would sit where all the trees were in our little pit of blankets, pillows and snacks, laughing and joking and telling scary stories, going home to bed, only to wake up and do it all again the next day ...I wish I had of known the last day was the last time I'd ever see them all, I'd have appreciated it so much more...

This song always kida hits me, digs into my soul in a weird way, it is how his voice fits so perfectly with the music, that just pours childhood memories into my thoughts. I'm not sure if this song makes me sad, or relaxed, or scared, or happy. It kinda just consumes me entirely when it's on. I didn't know the name for the longest time, and that made me sad. One day I decided to just sit down and find it, and I did. This song reminds me of those nights when it is nice out, and the air just has this nice scent. I picture me and someone I'm not sure who just laying on a hill staring at the sky and it is storming, but not raining, like heat lightning. Something about this song is just very special and dear to me.

In the fifth grade, I had two best guy friends that I hung out with and had the time of my life with. We were the meme lords and I never regretted a moment with them. One time one of their other friends say that one of them liked me, but being the coward I was, I never asked him about it directly. Then we had to move away, and I moved like five hours away from that school. I miss them like hell and would give anything to see them. I know this might sound a little silly, but I'm just going into the seventh grade, so make and judge what you will of me. Don't take a single moment of your time with your friends for granted and make sure to take some sort of action when someone tells you that kinda stuff, or it'll just get awkward between you two and if you realize you had feelings for that person when it's too late, you'll probably be wondering for a long time 'what if' Edit: YAY IM ABLE TO RECONNECT WITH THEM YES MOTHERF*CKER

Listen guys, this is going to be a PSA. A long time ago, when I was going through the time of my life, despite being abused, I felt so glad that, I had a family that I could visit every other week. They introduced me to music like MGMT, Bastille, eiffel 65, and so much more. But then, it all slipped away. I grew up over the years, feeling more empty, and empty, I spent my days crying in bed, missing my siblings and mother. At 9 years old, my new step mom and my 'dad' divorced, and I had to move with my father to a different city, leaving a city where I was bullied so much. I wasn't allowed on youtube at the time, but I always snuck on to listen to music like this, and, to see videos of my widow mother, and my siblings that I missed oh so much.. Something changed a few years later, when I came back to this song.. I started to cry. I listened to this back then over and over, and felt happy the things that has happened, has happened to me. I am now a teenager, with a job. Things that relive nostalgia and trauma really help me a lot.. for example, listening to MGMT and glass animals, visiting my mom and siblings, and watching jojo, for a jumpstart to the past on music. I want you all to know. Enjoy your life, no matter how hard it is.. because, the good times.. will come back, very soon.

I ALWAYS hung out with him, and I’m happy that I did grow up with stuff like the young adults now. I’m only 14, turning 15 and I’m doing my best to enjoy it. Cause these are my good days and soon will be my good ol’ days. I grew up with game cube, D’s, game boy, and the original Wii. All because of my uncle I got to live his good ol’ days with him. Thanks to him, and I hope that you all will find ways to enjoy adult good before you’re too old to do much else. Thanks for those who read this.

Why does growing up hurt that much? When you‘re younger, you just want to grow up as fast as possible. You wanna be like your idols, be like your parents. But while getting older you always wanna go back to the good old times. So enjoy your childhood and teenage years, make memories and a few years later you‘ll be happy that you’ve made‘em

Being nostalgic is probably just part of growing up. People who had their childhood back in the 80's missed it and didn't want the 90's, 90's kids don't want the 2000's and miss the 90's, and us 2000's kids are no different, we miss the 2000's and 2010's and don't want 2020's. It's a cycle.
