The Sad Reality is Kenyan politics needs numbers, great grassroot mobilizer (Gachagua) who can take head-on current Uhuru's presence, and Azimio checkmates to a sizable task to win over the opponent. The strength of Uhuru is no Measure Kindiki (professionally smart legal mind), all dimensions would favor both the best and equal to task, but Azimio's (Martha -Agikuyus West) checkmate would easily beat Kindiki.(Tharakas East), so dawa ya West ni kuchagua another strong West to counter. It's about winning the elections in August. According to game theory decision making strategies, you should always take the strategy that leaves you at a good position regardless of what the competitor does. In this case, failing to secure Mt Kenya West would have been a huge mistake for Ruto. Rigathi is the candidate who ensures that Raila's running mate choice does not really matter. Just imagine a scenario where Ruto picked Kindiki, and then Raila picks Martha Karua as a checkmate move! It would have been catastrophe for Ruto on how to secure Mt Kenya West votes. Remember, Ruto needs Mt Kenya votes more than Raila needs them. In short, Ruto can afford to lose Kindiki and even anger the Merus, but he cannot afford to lose or anger the Kikuyus. It was a brilliant move by Ruto.
