If you mean the pipe on the side of the tub, it is so the Diegestate has an outlet, cos sooner or later the tub will become filled. So having an overflow type pipe means when the tub content get to a point where it needs removing it can flow out of the pipe, which inside the tub is below the liquid level so gas can’t escape, except a tiny amount that is released from the material inside the overflow tube. This Digestate is excellent fertiliser so doesn’t go to waste!.

Gas can not escape through the inlet because the pipe reaches under the digester while gas is at the top. The outlet also is in the middle where the slurry is found. So gas can't escape through it.

We installed 432 biogas plants for community member having at least one buffelo or cow. Three cubic meter biogas plant is enough to fulfill five member family. Daily feeding is necessary. Daily feeding for three cubic meter is One bucket of cow dung plus one bucket of clean water... Mix it....

Just a small correction Cowdung is not a garbage. As per Hindu religious believes, it is the most sacred. If you observe correctly, all the living beings excrete will smell bad but only cow's excrete will not smell bad. Garbage means, all the trash like paper, plastic, rotten vegetables, rotten food etc

no use you can make the drum or leave it with a hole instead of the large funnel pipe it seems as it's a mouth of the digester.but one little point to be noted is it keeps immersed inside the water.
