Yeah it'll depend on where you hit them, for sure you want to hit from wing to wing or head to tail (or tail to head etc) Whenever the monster is longest, that's when you shoot, or you'll possibly be missing out on some damage.

Actually, unlike most weapons, the bloated attack values on bowguns aren't that much of a lie. LBGs have a 1.3x modifier to their damage and HBGs have a 1.5x modifier, which is also their bloat values. So unlike other weapons where you first have to do some math to compare across weapon types, you can more easily directly compare light and heavy bowguns. Also, pierce 1 is really good against pretty much every monster if you can keep critical distance. You only need 2 hits to do significantly more damage than normal 2 and you basically have to go out of your way to get less than that. The main reason normal 2 remains useful is that you can bring much more normal 2 ammo than pierce 1 and said ammo is significantly cheaper.

SNS and Dual Blades are 1.4 compared to GS/LS being 4.8 or Hammer/Hunting Horn being 5.2 Either way, it could be 1.1x or 1.05x etc, it's still really misleading and dumb, particularly in modern MH games, but it's mostly just something to keep in mind for the older ones, where I'd give them more benefit of the doubt.

Don't all ranged weapons have the same 1.2x? Making inter-class comparison insanely convenient, you need not do any mental math, just look at the number and it's accurate, at least relatively.

Recoil determines how long it takes your character to recover from firing a shot, if you have a particularly high recoil, you will be vulnerable for a much longer time. All Light Bowguns have a recoil stat of "Moderate" they focus more on a varying reload speed. But what does "Moderate" mean... right? Well, each bullet type has a set level of recoil, and it's modified by your bowguns recoil stat. Not all bullets will have the same recoil if your gun is "Moderate" and some shots wont have any recoil even if your recoil stat is the longest. Normal 1, 2, and 3, flaming, freeze, water, and thunder shots will always recover the fastest, "Recoilless", even if your recoil is at "Strong" Whereas if you want to shoot Clust 2 and 3, and any of the Level 2 status shots, your bowgun's recoil will need to be "Weakest" Here's a bunch of bowgun information I put together from a *very* good guide (also linked in the spreadsheet) docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1EpMs8iducma2oRZaGvgjij_UhZQNHYn11EdtS7ex0X0/edit#gid=2106006264 Finally, there are three levels of recoil, once it's determined. If it's "Recoilless" you'll recover after 1 second. If it's "Weak Recoil" You'll recover after 2 seconds If it's "Strong Recoil" you'll recover after 2.5 seconds, so you can see why it's important to try and get your shots to be recoilless.

I don't use bowgun enough to know off the top of my head, is it one option? 1 2 or 3? I looked it up and there's a post here: gamefaqs.gamespot.com/boards/943356-monster-hunter-freedom-unite/69766927 "If I recall correctly, they only affect the Behind-the-Shoulde aiming on Bowguns and Bows. Type 1 and 3 are nearly identical, as both zoom the camera in to behind your shoulder and causes the camera to follow the direction you're looking. Basically, they turn Bows and Bowguns into a Third-Person Shooter like Gears of War or Mass Effect. The difference is that when you exit aiming mode, Type 1 snaps your vertical orientation into the "looking slightly down" angle while Type 3 snaps back to the neutral, parallel-to-the-ground view. Type 2 is different, it doesn't zoom in behind your shoulder or behave like Gears of War at all. Instead, it just gives you the Aiming Arch/Crosshair so you can aim using the standard camera controls."

Well, for a light bowgun, the battle set isn't a bad idea, but you'll want to upgrade sooner than later. Daimyo Hermitaur isn't a bad idea for some defense. Otherwise: Shogun Ceanataur armor is good for piercing shots. Congalala armor is good for normal shots along with some other pretty nice skills tbh. Giaprey armor is good for pellet shots, with a few decorations you can also get Autotracker, which is a nice skill. And you should try and use decorations to get rid of negative skills when you can, of course, hope that helps! If you want a better weapon, Mazereon has a great guide that talks about recommended bowguns throughout the game: Search for "IX Suggested LBGs" or "VI Suggested HBGs" or scroll down a bit.

If you know how Pokemon games are released, I think it's a similar thing. They make a game, and then release an updated version of it later on. Monster Hunter Freedom Unite is the G rank version of Monster Hunter Freedom 2 Monster Hunter Freedom 1 is the portable version of Monster Hunter G, which is the G rank version of the original Monster Hunter game for the PS2. Monster Hunter G is Japan exclusive, but Freedom 1 was released in more places.

Sandfall LBG have ability normal s lv2 rapid fire, felyne and melyrx LBG actually have normal S lv1 rapid fire and flaming S rapid fire, but 2 palico LBG have different, it's slot jewel, felyne LBG have 3 slot and melyrx LBG have one slot

Armor in this game confuses me, i dont know what skills and gems usually do. Ive seen people mix and match armor sets but it all seems very nuanced.

It's going to be pretty hard to try and mix armor and such by yourself, I've never done it. I highly recommend using a program named "Athena's A.S.S." it stands for Armor Set Search, lol Basically, you put in what skills you want, and it will find you what armor to wear and what decorations to use, so then you just go out and get all the pieces. I'll try and get around to making a video about armor skills and using that program and stuff, but yeah, it's extremely useful. Yeah, I have a playlist with a handful of videos that may be helpful. I'll eventually be diving into systems that aren't fighting, and I have already covered some things like how to cook meat and get pokke points and farming and stuff, I'll be making videos on like damage calculation, armor skills, etc. But for right now I'd recommend checking out that playlist, there's not really any one tip I can give you besides like... @@leogan5591 Try Blademaster class, this class have enough defense so u can learn to predict enemy movement.. if u more professional then use Ranger Class, as u already know ur enemy movement.. hope this help

Oh man, Rise's LBG is so comfy compared to the pre Gen-5 bowguns, simply because you can often shoot and reload while moving on the ammo types you want to use the most. It does turn MH into basically Gear of War.
