The switch axe is way too fun using the aerial style just constantly jumping around and knocking every single monster easily. Also big sword go boom is always the best weapon.

The more i consume mainline Switch Axe, the more i realize how superior the Frontier version is.

GU's SwAxe was definitely the peak for the old-school games, but I do take great enjoyment in Rise's version. In addition to the Amp gauge and Zero Sum Discharge it got from Worldborne, Rise gave the SwAxe a special "Silkbind" attack called Soaring Wyvern Blade. When used on the ground, you leap high into the air - and at the peak of your jump, you press attack to do a diving strike. If you connect with this strike, it causes a phial explosion that deals sizeable chunk of damage while your Amp gauge fills up quite a bit. But if you're already airborne when you make the first input, you go straight into the dive. And that phial blast is almost as much as the final explosion from an Elemental Discharge! The kicker? You can perform it STRAIGHT OUT OF A ZERO SUM DISCHARGE. When you're launched back into the air after the ZSD's big finisher, you can perform a Soaring Wyvern Blade to land one more big strike.
