Hell yes! I've always been running guard lance sets just for the comfy play. but after seeing this, I think it's time to go for it. Going to see if I can build a set like that and try out evasion lancing in Rise again.

Is that back hop attack the only way to do damage with Lance? Thinking about trying out Lance for the first time but just spamming that same attack dosent seem fun. Great run btw

thats kinda lance in general. you can also do the poke poke poke "shield bash" combo for an inf loop. but ya. that lunging strike hits 3 times in quick sucession. so its the fastest DPS cuz of that basically.

It's the best DPS for Elemental. The Wide Sweep is a great attack as well but since Bazel lands in weird positions sometimes and the sweep comes in from the right, I sometimes don't use it because I could hit the legs or wings and lose a lot of damage. The Poke into shield tackle is also a good combo can deal more damage if you go full raw.

To be honest, the poking isn't the best part. Try and run with Insta-Guard against a monster and THAT is the satisfying part of Lance. Lance has two counters - alot of monsters in Sunbreak now do double hits to handle counters so this is the time for Lance mains!

This is great, but the lunge lance is slow, opens you up and really only works like this when you pump yourself with demon drugs and min max your damage 😅

Not really. It's one of the best attacks Lance has. Guard Dash into Leaping Thrust only uses 1 Sharpness, has a very high Elemental scaling and when dashing back, you block attacks and activate Offensive Guard if you time it correctly. There is a reason why this move is used in almost all Lance runs.

@@Vycery I feel like if i poke, poke, poke shield bash the pokes end up doing more damage than the thrust, and with the shield bash i have a lot more control of my direction, but maybe i just dont have the right decorations or something

You deal nore damage with the individual pokes, yes but you also have to factor in the time. The 3 Pokes Shild Bash is slower than Leaping Thrust and with the right build, Leaping will outperform that. On top, with Shield Bash, you run the risk to get out of position and with Leaping, you only use 1 Sharpness for all 3 hits.

You don't have to backhop. You can Guard Dash in any direction and do the Lunging Thrust.
