Thanks for the video, looks interesting. A couple of channels to check out if you haven’t already, Kelly Coffield, does a lot of lost foam casting with great info on pattern making etc, the other is Oficina Mao Livre, Brazilian guy with no forearms, uses prosthetics older channel but made lots of his own tools, worth a look. Cheers

I have been lost foam casting for quite a while now and generally, it all goes pretty well, I have watched quite a bit of Kelly's videos, but unfortunately, I can't get the foam he uses here in Thailand. I'll check out the other guy. Thanks for watching. 👍

I have to say I feel that it is a pretty ambitious project, especially without any plans to follow. Thanks for watching. 👍

If you have any brass or bronze stock you could always make a sleeve for that piece instead of remaking it. 👍👍

Truth be known, I'm a week ahead of when I publish, I remade that bit in Part 2 but didn't video it, I started on Part 3 yesterday.. Thanks for watching. 👍

Interesting project. I will be watching closely to see how it goes. You can sharpen end mills on the lathe by indexing the chuck and using a small TPG. Works quite well, but a dedicated T&CG would be useful. Cheers Rob

Challenging project I think. I have watched a lot of videos on sharpening them in the lathe, including one by your good self from memory, but I needed a project to work on, so a T&CG it was. Thanks for watching. 👍

Thanks Matty, it's ticking along nicely, I heard your comment about multiple episodes, well this one could go 6 or more, mainly because of all the castings I intend to make. Thanks for watching. 👍

Glad to hear you enjoy my videos. The heat is really getting to me at the moment, I had a thought yesterday that maybe a rotating roof ventilator, or Whirly Bird as we call them back home in Oz, may help to cool my little workshop down. Thanks for watching. 👍

Thanks, still getting the odd failure as you will see in Part 2, but that was my fault for getting too ambitious. Thanks for watching. 👍

I have been interested in something like this for a while. I see the Deckel clone Universal Tool and Cutter Grinder various places for many hundreds of dollars and thought...Why?...That doesn't look that difficult to manufacture. I hope yours turns out like one of those. I want one, but not even for the lowest price I've seen which is still at least $600USD.

Cost is exactly why I'm attempting to make one, my version will be a touch different from the Deckel or the Quorn, both seem to be fairly common. Thanks for watching. 👍

We pay $0.20 per pound for scrap at local scrap yard, doesn't include aluminum, copper, brass or wiring but still way better that buying it new, have our own scrap yard sorta, collected enough things it takes up area 3x larger than shop and it's 26ftx18ft plus a addition added in 2019-2020 of 6ftx26ft 😂😂😂

I bought 12kg (26.5 lbs) of scrap cast Aluminium from a mate from Bangkok for 800 baht, around US$22 which was way cheaper than I was paying. Thanks for watching. 👍
