I joined a random expedition once at guiding lands, there this one player have max HR 999 and MR 999 using safi fire dual blades. We were hunting a tempered velkhana and this dude slaughtered the elder dragon ruthlessly while dodging every velkhana attacks eventhough the 3 of us running around spamming max potions. After the hunt ends that dude just said thank you and went off, didnt even bother to carve. I felt amazed and inspired

well there are cheats if you didnt know .. and you can easily reach 999 999 and you can activate immortal mode and infinite stamina so i guess it was a cheater, i dont recommend cheating though since it will take all your fun away from the game. i cheated in mhw vanilla and it completely ruined the experience for me, because each and every achievement doesnt feel real..

I'm sorry... my older brother has a higher rank (both MR and HR) and I have a defense almost 300 points higher than him, but he uses hammer (and his words not mine "because every thing is weak against hammer") but I use the charge blade and the sword and board, but I also use defense jewels and a level 3 defense charm (I don't have the mats to raise it yet), and my charge blade also increases my defense by +35

6:53 or just make rarity 1 heavy bowgun with wyvernheart (and safi armor). Load special ammo and hold R2 for 2 carts in 10 seconds (even if you forgot to remove cats revive its enough for 3rd cart without health booster). Its faster then horizon lbg and doesnt need to have ps4 exclusive dlc

That method is Not faster than Horizon LBG but is still quick.

​@@novocomaa With horizon Lbg you need to shot untill the "almost dead" stugger for each cart (so waste time on recover frames).With HBG you use more time for ammo loading ONCE. Thats it and shots actually kill you faster .If you need multiple carts , pretty sure is evens up worst case .(and you need 2 carts for gl where it matters).

You shoot until the LBG over charges. At that point you can’t even see your Health bar. Then Melee attack once and bam. The whole process is over in 4 seconds. The LBG Draws faster, loads special ammo faster, and carts you in less hits. soo I dunno whatcha talking about. I’ve tested this.

Guys there are even quest, where you get as a reward exp for your ranks. Look for them. On the right sight there is always a short story of the quest as you may already know and at the last sentence there is sometimes special rewards.

I spend about 4-8hrs in one expedition at the Guiding Lands killing every monster on sight while also stacking up lures. MR gains I get range from 45-120 (120 with spawning Tempered Elders provided I have enough lures) at the end of the day.

thanks for that build, with my own take (with 2piece val hazak) i got *very* comfy health up3, both regeneration skills on 3, slugger 3, peak 3, artillery 3, fortify, but only 1 level of special ammo boost, I tried it and you passively heal the damage dealt to you soo fast and your palico immediately puts you to max with the health balloon. (also i'm stingy with my thousands of pots, don't need to waste any of them) Though might need to preproc fortify twice to have enough ammo for a complete fight

Level up tundra, coral and volcano region and you'll gain access to every tempered threat level 3 monsters except gold rathian and blackveil val hazak. I've been doing this for a few weeks now solo and already went up to MR600. For stygian and jho, just use adept stormslinger and you'll kill them under 5 minutes. For everything else, use sticky.

I've found that joining the 5-monster hunts very late (30+m) to get the quick finish is very efficient for experience grinding. You don't get quest rewards, but claiming XP for 5 monsters, sometimes in just a couple minutes, is faster than tempered GL runs if you can sustain it, by quite a margin.

Trap spamming takes a lot of work. Collecting tracks from a monster after drawing it out gets you 15 research points per track. Plus the monster you're tracking doesn't have to come from a certain place. Just has to be in the place you want to level up.

Some 999 Hunting Horn user named Alexander popped into our MR Diablos quest last night and awed us so much that my friend instantly changed to a HH main. Every time the Diablos went under ground, he stunned it as it was coming up (still no idea how he did this). He prepped heal songs for when we were going to get hit and we were healed to full instantly. He kept our buffs up. I think he also had a mod or macro that said what HP the Diables was at, too (it spammed every 20% in the chat with a custom message). Incredible and awe inspiring.

Fatalis made sticky builds really braindead to make. Either go 3 narga+2 fatalis or just go 4 fatalis and do whatever you want for the last piece. Being able to easily fit slugger secret, artillery secret and true razor sharp/spare slot. Is waaay too good for the build.

Something to note: The monsters' research tabs in the map screen for the guiding lands shows which region the present monsters are tied to if you want to trap spam a monster not exclusive to the region. Nice vid. Good info. Edit: Coming back to this comment because I realized research points from non-region-exclusive monsters do level all of their possible regions, albeit at a much slower pace than the one they are currently bound to. So if you're strongly opposed to leveling your other regions at all, region-exclusive monsters are indeed the way to go.

Unfortunately for the early iceborne contents, not too many new players are around to play with. HR was pretty plentiful, but my SOS usually go unanswered while I spent 35mins whacking Glavenus with my Iron Eschaton LS. I'll probably look into this build just so solo hunts don't take 40.

Love this clip it explains a lot, I personally prefer pierce and viper tobi gun so maybe finding a similar gun or just going for that light bow gun in the clip would be great, I do prefer being able to fire several shots before reloading as I tend to stand and fight rather than kite and micro manage, that being said would be great to finally finish icebourne after putting it off for so long

ive been spending the past 2 weeks just furiously grinding guiding lands monsters for about 5-7 hours a day and it took forever just to get from MR 40 to MR 69 (about 4 days) so i figured id give this video a shot just out of curiosity. Ended up learning i should learn a new weapon i dont have experience in using, learn quick crafting and start hunting a monster ive dreaded ever since 4U. Welp guess ill go back to taking months just for one level in the guiding lands.

For someone who is already MR660/HR999 on PC and will reach MR999 on February 28, 2020, the fastest way to level up is to make Ruiner Nergigante, Gold Rathian, Silver Rathalos, and Rajang extinct in your game to the point Capcom will never include them in the future MonHun titles. It'll be a lot faster with your friends specially if playing with them shaves the time spent on a monster by quite a lof of time. However, I'm doing this solo and no one's crazy enough to join me in this journey so it's a lot slower for me, however, if you managed to join someone who is also wanting to do the same, then it'll be your lucky day. I recommend leveling Wildspire, Coral, and Volcanic region to level 7 so you can efficiently get MR points every time you fight the said monsters. If you want to make your lives easier, never ever do the MR200 quest Master Hunter of the New World since it'll decrease the MR point gain you get from killing the said monsters by 1/8. You have to live your life in shame until MR999 with a purple name and not a yellow one. If possible, level up MR20 or more a day to efficiently get to MR999 early. Since I'm on PC, people are not going to believe me that I'm going to be MR999 in two weeks and would probably be kicked out of session just like the time when I was HR999 on PC but you gotta bear it. My fellow HR999 brothers and sisters, I shall wait, at the top.

I'm on ps4 and doing the same thing. Except I've been farming for spiritvein gems and the MR increase is just bonus for me. And I like spending a few hours a day just relaxing in guiding land and killing monsters.

The benefit to doing these monsters as a gunner is that, once you get to tempered monsters you'll find yourself getting oneshot a lot, so it forces you to git gud.

Get your biS and hunt all the monsters you might have skipped, and then just log in to get event armor, and then you are done. But even this "fastest method." Takes quite a while to get to MR 999. If that is your goal.

Something i've not been able to work out - this guy is showing the "Ten Thousand Volts" Rajang LBG during the "this is the build you will need for this" but you can't make this until you can farm tempered glimmerpelts which only drop from Tempered Rajang in Lv.7 volcano which wouldn't be until the near-end of this process. Is there something i'm missing?

Hes referring to the base build of TTV not the upgrade, you should be able to make it after the initial quests to fight rajang that you get from the Admiral.

i remember i need to farm rajang to get his hbg weapon so i can make comfy sticky hbg build. all i can remember is pain in my head and sweat all over my mouse and keyboard and thats basically the only rajang farming i did

Of course i will recommended the Tempered one, since it was better for sticky ammo overall. but if you already do Fatalis, then I'll go for Fatalis HBG pierce ammo build instead of Rajang HBG sticky ammo build. since Safii Aquashot LBG sticky ammo build is better imho. basically that, sorry if I'm remembering wrong, been a while since i play this game. good luck on your hunt

Just play ice charge blade and you can kill tempered diablos + black diablos back to back in 2-4 minutes each They are especially easy because you can use scream pots Each of them gives like 50% of a lvl and they die really fast

little tips: KO would not stack when monster is stunned and knocked down, so better reload you sticky 2 & 3, put one wyvernblast then start shooting, this way you don't lose KO value
