If anyone is having trouble with getting him to stay on the ground: if you grab the pods by the tree (scatternuts) whenever he does the attack where he pretends to land, you can make him flinch and stay on the ground

this is only for people that actualy dont panic,took me more than 10 minutes to complete because of the rage etc...for those beginners like me : only use those stun things when its enraged and mid air,the only attack window is when hes on the ground,ALWAYS use the hammer and learn how to use it if you dont know how to use it,use those stationary bombs for taking him out of the air when hes and lure him to them,if hes in the air either raged or unraged...just run and evade and the most crucial typ : DONT PANIC OR ITS OVER (another tip if that wasnt enough : if you shoot those plants on the trees,scatter nuts will fall down,if you shoot those with your sling at the right moment ----> wich is when the rathalos pretends to land shoot them and they will stun him for a couple of secs and then he stays on the ground ! special thanks to @Casper in this comment section for bringing this up!!! )

Takes me 25 minutes because after you run out of flash pods he just stays flying for 90% of the fight. Lands for a few seconds exhausted, but then starts flying again... God he is annoying.

its a poorly designed monster in my opinion, it doesn't have any opening once its flying and enraged, it will land for a split second then continuously breath fire and charge at you with out cutting you slack every other monster even when raged would have pauses in between attacks before attacking again. none of the other ratheiens and ratholos are that aggressive

Funny that this is the quest that made me finish "Rathalos in Blue" optional. Got super frustrated fighting against him (not particularly good in any weapons the quest had to offer, except maybe the hammer, but even then, not used to fighting an azure rathalos with it), ended up venting it by mutilating the rathalos in the quest using the Kjarr stream swax.

Damn, this fight is so much more annoying for me. Not sure how you get him to stay on the ground so often. I can usually get him stunned 2-3 times with the para knives and flashpods, but its never enough to kill him and then he just flys overhead for 20 minutes dive bombing and shooting fire. I'll have to see what I can take from this cause as of right now this is the hardest fight in the game for me. I don't have too many problems with temp teo or temp nerg, but this stupid arena fight has been killing me.

Kyrushi he knocked it w the para knives, and the flash pods a couple of times but when he got that uppercut in when he landed for a split second that was crucial bc he was about to jump and shoot a fireball and start flying again but he knocked him back giving another opening

NoobieSnake part of the reason he doesn't use a potion is because he doesn't want too. The hammer in that arena quest has heroics. When you fall below 35 % health you gain massive damage and affinity. I mean it's still pretty damn awesome. Those dodges are crazy precise.

Dominiscus yup, totally understand, as I’ve also soloed it with the hammer, haha. But he’s way too impressive by being able to keep his health at that threshold and not even getting injured after that. It took me 33 mins solo :( I need to get good and try to do what he does, hahaha.

I dont wanna know how much time went into this run though. He made a lot of pretty risky moves here that could have easily gotten him killed if rath behaved differently. So either he got extremely lucky or he tried like 30 times to get a run like this

I'm guessing you're trying a different arena quest. It's a different set of weapon choices for each quest.

That's because he understands the fight lol, giving azure rathalos space just means more flying rathalos. Constant hits to the head with hammer = exhaustion which means no flying to little flying. Getting hit out of the air with hammer = no flying and good use of flash pods. All understanding, no luck or RNG.

i know how you feel, i know how to use the bow but i threw it out a while back to focus on my greatsword build. frfr i could use the starting greatsword and still kill it faster than i can with any of the weapons they give you (im not terrible but NONE of the weapons they give you, i've used to fight a rathalos)

@@scorn9018 I actually re-visited SNS and got my tokens! After watching someone else I saw that flight phases are kinda easy with scatter nut, and the helmsplitter. Interrupt with the slinger as she's coming after you into an immediate helm splitter for ez damage and mounts. Use the knives and traps for easy openings too.

Its not that hard actually, first upgrade your health, stamina and damage with the items you are given then use paralysis knife and attack his head until the effect passes then repeat but using flash pods each time he starts to fly. Once you are out of flashpods just keep throwing rocks at him until he gets tired and stops flying. I archieved a B score this way
