That was a fast run but it seemed a little messy. I'm no speedrunner or anything (god I won't even attempt BV Vaal) but it just seemed like some time was wasted waiting for him to chase you around. It was a good run for sure though, just variables that were probably not in your control.

Now THAT's a real speedrun, none of the bullshit ruleslists banning half the stuff in the game like no clutch claw or no environmental damage! Great run! PS: Do you prefer normal or Blackveil Vaal Hazak? I really prefer the normal one, wish we'd get a G rank version of it...

I agree so much. I understand that TA rules etc are to remove variables, but what's the point? Show the game as it is imo, the restrictions get a bit ridiculous.

@@teddyweddibumbo1 Yup, it's basically just MH that has a stupid amount of rules for speedruns. Most games just go with glitch runs and glitchless and MAYBE have just 1-2 rules in place (eg: Goldeneye speedruns banning a certain gamepad version for making things too easy). I've literally never seen another game to have rules in speedruns that prohibit about half the stuff in the game (eg: no cats, no frogs, no environmental damage, no pods, etc.), it's absurd and takes out what makes the game unique to the past MH games...

Wouldn't change much other than lose a lv4 slot and a large chunk of defense honestly, 1 lv2 slot won't really let you add much more to what he's using to make a difference.

@@tho_tho you can add 1 more peak performance to get 10 raw. That's equivalent to a might seed. You don't lose anything really, that bit of defense don't even make you take more damage since you already have too much def.

@@Briezar Meh, just 10 RAW won't really change much, and if anything, it can actually ruin the run since it's VERY close to going over the damage threshold for flinches twice, meaning any more attack might make it eat the flinch, which will ruin the lockdown.

@@tho_tho if 10 raw doesn't change anything then why must speedrunners full bull all 3 might seed, demon power and drug? They give 10+10+7 raw. That 10 raw will not mess with staggering threshold because it flinches or falls down right when it stands up.

@@Briezar Fine, let me explain your stupidity. Take for example 1:20. Vaal's head flinches every 300 points of damage, attack right before roar did 594 but was during an animation so flinch was eaten, then first hit of TCS did 119 which brought it past 600, causing it to flinch and ensuring TCS's main hit landed. Having just 10 more RAW would do 19.46 (rounds to 19) more damage in first hit, Vaal would go twice over the threshold but eat the flinch, literally ending the lockdown. There IS such a thing as too high damage for HAME strats, more damage doesn't always mean better times! And 10 more RAW can make or break a run, so it literally depends on how your scripting goes! You want as high damage as possible without going over the limit for that particular monster, that's why quite a lot of GS runs actually don't even use Demondrug sometimes (eg: Pukey before Safi/Raging GSs came out) because it would go over the limit!

The sword itself is called Wyvern Ignition, and it has one version for each rank: "Steel" for low, "Impact" for high and "Silver" for Master. I do believe it can be layered, but the tickets required to craft it come from a limited time event called "Every Hunter's Dream" and "Every Hunter's Dream III"

It's basically Wyvern Ignition layered on top of Raging Brachy's GS. Wyvern Ignition was great in high rank but it's not even top 15 in MR which is a pity, but at least we can layer it now!
