Bow can easily do so, too. But going high/pure elemental isn't as necessary as it was advertised to be. This is because raw attack is what actually kills alatreon much much faster because his elemental hitzone values are actually poor. kzbin.info/www/bejne/gIuQcoJmpbJmi6M You only really need just a high enough element attack to "contain his power" just 1x which is already sufficient to make escaton judgement survivable. The advantage of doing so more than once is it gives more breathing room to heal escaton tick damage. And more knockdown means more window to deal damage to his horns so you can achieve an easier break once he shifts to dragon element (his horns are only breakable when he's in dragon mode btw). I agree with IDeVaste, going full elemental is only good for weakening escaton judgement but sub-optimal overall in terms of damage and breaking the horns (and other parts and causing flinches and claggers for that matter). This is why almost all of the fastest clear times I see only aims to reach the elemental dps check just 1x and then the rest of the builds are actually geared more towards more damage that is mostly raw. Look at this SnS heroics run for example (the fastest solo run I've ever seen! nearly killing alatreon before it could even do an escaton) kzbin.info/www/bejne/gKHVnIV4g5edmck And SnS is pretty suitable for elemental damage yet his build is for getting as much raw as possible. Then compare DB to Bow. kzbin.info/www/bejne/ioHOoZV3gtxpfqs Although both can easily shut down alatreon's element 3x prior his 1st escaton, DB clears much faster because it can be very balanced between raw and element (thereby dishing out much more damage) as opposed to Bow which simply speaking is a pure elemental weapon with dragon piercer as its only raw-focused move. If anything, I think alatreon's 1st escaton comes usually at a little over the 5 minute mark, and from runs such as this and others where alatreon's element is shut down 3x, I'm lead to believe that this is the max and actually forces escaton to come out earlier to sort of reset his elemental threshold (kinda like teo/luna mode reset after nova or nergi spike reset after divebomb) It is now also shown to be possible for 4P to kill alatreon without him getting to pull off an escaton judgement. This is achievable by dishing out the highest numbers (I think ideally high raw with high enough element just in case but could actually be doable pure raw. Edit: 4P-bowgun world record is pure pierce). kzbin.info/www/bejne/sIaxaqR8ishqfJY kzbin.info/www/bejne/eXTOeZRsbNigr9U Granted these are very optimized runs and godly monster AI RNG, but still... Don't you think it's quite ironic that DB being largely considered as the best matchup for alatreon has yet to accomplish the same feat and that 4P-GS has beat it to the punch? Even SnS and its mini-GS tier attacks get to have faster clear times...

I actually managed to get the special knockdown FOUR times in one of my solo runs, plus a K.O lol. After escaton I got another knockdown for a total of five in one run; I think the escaton judgement timing is %HP based and considering how sloppy my run was (by letting him enrage during aerial phase and taking needless hits) I was able to delay it enough to get an extra KD. And that is actually already sufficient to make escaton judgement survivable with proper max potion / astera jerky timing. kzbin.info/www/bejne/gIuQcoJmpbJmi6M Going pure/high elemental isn't as optimal as it was hyped up to be. Just aim to have a high enough element to be able to weaken EJ once then the gear the rest of your build for higher dps (ideally for more raw after enough element has been reached, but up to players to add some more element just in case and depending on how aggressive they can be on dealing elemental damage). This is because alatreon's elemental hitzone values (hzv) are actually low whereas his raw hzv are very high (his highest is second only to Kulve Taroth's which is the game's highest). The need for high element on weapons is to counter these poor element hzv as you aim to beat the element dps check at least once to make EJ survivable. The resulting knockdown is great and all but if you geared pure elemental and didn't boost your raw attack as well, it'll actually take much longer to break his horns and it'll also take longer to kill him. Balance is key. Look at this SnS heroics run and also his non heroics run. In both, he reached the elemental dps check only once yet he achieved comparable and even faster clear times than DB. In the heroics run, he even came really close to killing alatreon before it was able to do an EJ. kzbin.info/www/bejne/gKHVnIV4g5edmck Ironically, GS players are actually achieving some of the fastest clear times such as this kzbin.info/www/bejne/hKvGm31or5aXgMU 4P-GS have even been able to kill alatreon sub 4'. Alatreon was not given the chance to do its nova. kzbin.info/www/bejne/sIaxaqR8ishqfJY 4P-Bowgun World record (pure pierce) kzbin.info/www/bejne/eXTOeZRsbNigr9U And bows are actually getting slower solo clear times due to being purely elemental aside from dragon piercer and I guess thousand dragons (slinger burst). Granted these are very optimized runs and monster AI RNGesus smiling at the time, but still the point that having so/too much element is not as necessary as advertised has now become more apparent. And for those struggling with alatreon's flying mode, just as in previous games where when speedrunners go against black dragons they farcaster out once the monster becomes airborne so as to ground it, the work-around in this iteration of alatreon's fight are smokebombs and/or ghillie mantle which achieves the de-aggroing effect which is what actually makes black dragons land back down. 😁

Nope. Dual Blades has a one-hit tenderize combo. Press O or B a bunch and hit L2/LT to clutch. The dodge itself is from Demon Mode, the animation is probably actually a mod

How are you able to go into the clutch claw spins without doing the spin to win? I tried to do what you did and it doesn't work I can only do spin to win>two upper spins>clutch attack. I noticed you were able to do dodge>upper spins>clutch or attack>upper spins>clutch which is faster.

That is a good set, though you can change it to 2p Velk + 3p Safi with resentment, more damage but less comfy

エスカトンは抑制できていれば円筒いらずですよ 一回抑制してる時は半分切ったあたりで2回食べると満タンまで回復できます 二回抑制してると半分で飲んだらちょうどいい感じです 装衣の枠が開くのでエスカトン以外の攻撃でやられにくくなるので参考までに
