MHXX | G★3 Lagiacrus solo (Valor Long Sword) - 4'16 / ラギアクルス ブレイヴ 太刀 ソロ

A rather half-assed run, which I'm uploading anyway because I wanted to give a quick update on the near future of this channel. As most of you have already heard by now, Capcom has announced an HD port of this game for the Nintendo Switch. Because of that (and because I have a shitton of other games I want to play right now), I've decided to play MHXX less frequently for now to not burn out on this game and keep myself motivated by the time the Switch version gets released, so until that happens, video uploads will be more sporadic.
As far as the streams on Twitch are concerned, I'm planning to keep streaming MHXX 2~3 times per week with a heavier focus on casual runs and viewer requests, otherwise I'd focus more on playing through an HD port of an older title, Monster Hunter Portable 3rd, for the PS3 and maybe MHGen viewer hunts (if there are still people playing this game and having interest in that kind of thing) and whatever other game I feel like playing. The weapon is the Shredclaw Khopesh: 330 Raw 5% Affinity Massive natural white sharpness (which is good since purple is not all that worth it anymore since the nerf) That 5% Affinity is important. Let's do some really basic math here. According to Canta's skills: 5+30+15+50=100 He's got 100% Affinity whenever the monster is pissed off and he hits a weakspot. Add to this the big Raw + the attack bonus given by Chall+2 AND Crit Boost, that's a set that can steamroll pretty much anything. Plus let's be honest. The big lobster claw is better than the Egyptian surfboard fashion wise. Great run as always, even if it was a tad bit sloppy a couple times.

It went from a 1.44x multiplier to 1.39x, making it nowhere near as essential as it used to be. GRank with white sharpness is perfectly fine. In fact, weapons with lots of natural white sharpness like the Shredclaw here are preferable since you don't have to invest in Sharpness+X. So don't bother making Sharpness+X sets unless you're going for godlike weapons like the Fatalis Danakira.

Beambam Purple sharpness got nerfed to make the skill "bludgeoner" usable, but to be honest, using white or purple sharpness is better than using bludgeoner.

The timing for that sword has to be pretty tight. But I love the high skill cap weapons, they always feel satisfying because when you're busting ass with them, you know it's bc you have the skills. It's why Valor Long Sword and Valor Insect Glaive is gonna be my main for XX when I get it on the switch

I can't sprint without stopping midway. I may even fail doing a full spirit combo and every time I counter I have to pray to god that the R button won't troll me. I think I overused the R button :(

Very late, but it's the Rustrazor LS, massive white sharpness negates the need for Handicraft, Razor Sharp, and lets you use Critical Juncture instead of Absolute Readiness. Also it's a deviant weapon so your hunter arts charge faster which is a nice bonus

if you can adept you can do this. It's the same concept, different button. Only difference being you can hold the counter, you can't make your dodge last longer unless you gem in evasion, and even then you can't make it last as long as the counter.

Chad Steeves What do you mean by holding the counter? The GP animation is a lot tighter than Adept evade. The duration of the animation is shorter than that of Adept evade. It's definitely harder to time than adept evade. The majority of people i've played with find Brave way harder than Adept. On top of that, you need energy in spirit gauge in order to execute a GP, which means you always have to make sure there's enough energy left. I got somewhat decent at Adept in about a day's practice, but brave took me like weeks to feel comfortable. The learning curve is definitely not on the same level IMHO.

Look at 4:02 Look how early he hits the counter. If he had dodged that early, the only way it would have successfully dodged through that with Adept is if you had at least evade +2. If you counter the way you're supposed to you'll also never run out of gauge. Adept definitely made Monster Hunter casual for me, I soloed through the entire game and the only monster that took more than the first try was Amatsu because I was forcing myself to practice bow at the time.

It's not really a parry, you're basically bracing yourself for the impact and get less damage while sheathing your weapon, plus the valor gauge gets filled a little.

SOCIO It was broken. The stun values were excessively high along with the damage output, meaning that it was better than the hammer in ever way. Defensively, damage wise, and knock out wise. Plus the guard point into super made it very easy to put out that ridiculous damage.

not really if you run a good run with brave longsword if you get hit you cant just stop and heal without a proper opening if you want to get the best time and the gp is either do or die attack you miss your fucked most of the time

brave is stronger but harder too the gp has tight timings so you have to know the monster or else your fcked and most of time using brave you have to find a proper timing to heal because the fcking sheathe takes forever and also if you fail the gp it might kill you if the monster is using its strongest attack
