Sub 4 should be possible for GL with a better spawn and a bit more luck but right now this run is only 13 seconds behind the current record and it was fairly clean except for that one hit at the beginning so I'm fine with it.

If there's one major thing in cross/gen that disappointed me it's that the crit boost set is pretty much the only way to go. I'm not saying there isn't any other problems it just the thing that bothered me.

GL was my favorite weapon in MH3U, it was so fucking good and probably the best blademaster weapon underwater too, I have high expectations from the devs about GL in MHW.

Great to see GL get some love. Too bad it's still rather slow though. Also, that Vespoid triple kill at 3:28 though. Side note, have you ever thought about doing an HH speedrun? I don't think I have ever seen you do one.

I did a few HH runs in MHGen and MH4U but generally don't use it that often because it takes me a lot more effort to get a good time with it.

adept guard doesn't require any guard skills, which is the one reason why adept > brave for most GL speedruns

Canta, would you have gotten a better time had you used Gammoth's GL or even the deviant Gammoth's GL? Or had you already tried that and saw that the Blango GL was the better choice. Do you mind explaining what it is that made this GL a better choice than the other two, like raw or element, or shot type??

I did the math and after factoring in sharpness and affinity, deviant Gammoth GL just barely wins by 9 raw (696 vs 687). Blango GL however has more than twice as much ice attack than deviant gammoth GL (38 vs 16) which is giving it the edge imo. That being said tho, it doesn't make a huge difference which one you use, both will perform similarly well for this quest.

CantaPerMe I was just curious was all. Was wondering if it had been a matter of sharpness, or element or even shot type that made you choose the Blango GL over the Gammoth GL. One more thing I apologize, but would artillery be useful if you could fit it in, or is it more so that it's not really worth it if you're trying to speed run, depending on the monster?

Hi, I just started playing recently and love gunlance, this was really awesome to see. I have a question, at around 2:20 you drew while moving directly into a counter, how did you do this? I always end up doing a draw attack and it's pretty annoying.

The attack doesn't hit hard enough to compensate for the amount of time it takes to wind up. Comboing away at a weak point with lance attacks is much more efficient.

RaGiNgBaNaNa101 It's quite fun to play, you definitely should try it! I don't speak a Word japanese either but it is by far Not that difficult to still succeed in what you wanna do. First week was tough but afterwards you know what and where to press to find the things you want.

Be aware 3DS has region block, so unless you find a not-so-legit way to work around it or if you play on switch it may not be worth it. I haven't played it but doesn't look really tempting to me tbh, generations was pretty well packed
