Side punch hole is less intrusive in content but then you have selfie camera photos off center, which getting some used to. Ideal is no punch hole or cut out. Maybe upcoming Redmi K30 PRO?

Just ordered my Mi 10 Pro (Trading Shenzhen) I’m quite impressed with the package, at almost or half the price of the S20 Ultra (Also on order) i think it’s really a slap in the face that big OEM are upping the price each year. Frankie Tech Absolutely brilliant as usual, really enjoy and appreciate your content. As a fellow tech enthusiast having owned let’s say to many smartphones lol and just knowing the market, Samsung needs to tread carefully. Your final conclusions were on point and I wish more tech reviewers would highlight the fact that yes the S20 Ultra is great from a tech perspective, but like you said is it worth double that of the Mi 10 Pro? I agree no it really isn’t. As Xiaomi and others are getting their name around Globally Samsung will have to rethink their pricing. iPhones can do it because it’s a single market so to speak meaning there ain’t no other running iOS, but in the Android world you have so many options and alternatives to the £1400 devices that your not sacrificing. Yup I bought the S20 Ultra as I love tech, but I hope more do say it how it is, call out Samsung it’s really on us to do so 👌

Gotta say the Mi 10 Pro is a massive phone!!! and what a flagship killer it will be... if they can get there name further out there they will catch up to samsung in no time!!] S20 Ultra was super hyped but i feel its fallen well short, and even in camera test, alot i prefared the 11 pro max's photos, and now the Mi 10 pro i like even more, yeah weirdly sometimes the s20 ultra photos were better then the 10 pro but overall the Mi 10 pro wins all round!!! very disappointed in the S20 Ultra.... ok maybe software updates will radically sort it but i think samsung will get word and may even end up scrapping the ultra in quick time and replace it with something else... the samsung galaxy note 10 + seemed to be the better camera over the s20's ... what happened in nightmode is shocking by samsung .... but keeping my Mate 20x more then happy with that, and still to this day, nothing beats the 7.2" screen :D good to hear from you buddy! and things going better, keep it up bro

When you have such a big camera bump, which don't get me wrong I am all for as the camera quality is super important, I would much rather they made the phone flat by making the body thicker and so allowing for a much bigger battery like 6000-7000mAh, plus better cooling and larger speakers, etc. The bump still needs to fit in your pocket so by not utilising that extra space I don't see what you save/gain.

Amazing Frankie Tech! Very detailed and complete comparison between the 3 phones, I am very looking forward for the next parts! I personally ordered the Mi 10 Pro 12/512gb Blue version but after seeing your video with the white version I contacted the store to change my order to the white one as it looks just way better in my personal opinion, its amazing what Xiaomi is doing with their phone and really listen to customers, putting incredible specs all around at very good prices! S20 Ultra looks great too but it offers little more for double the price of the Mi 10 Pro, so I am going to keep on going with Xiaomi, I was an owner of a Mi 5s Plus 6/128 in 2016-2019, upgraded to K20pro 8/256 in 2019 and now I bought the Mi 10 Pro 12/512 :) couldn't be happier with my choice!

Great comparison. Somethings you forgot to mention: 1 - Gorilla glass: xiaomi devices have gorilla glass 5; S20U has gorilla glass 6. Its more impact resistant. 2 - IR blaster: Xiaomi devices have IR blaster, Samsung's don't. 3 - firgerprint unlock: The S20U can be unlocked even if the display is off, while laying flat on the table. 4 - Audio recording quality: It would be cool to compare the mics on each device.

I definitely prefer the 19.5:9 ratio on the Mi 10 series, that is where I personally draw the line. I can endure 20:9, but would throw a 21:9 Sony out the window (not literally). In cameras it's not even close the Mi 10 Pro crushes the S20U. Samsung must really love their 12MP drawings, no other company would gimp both the hardware (9->1 binning) and software (extreme smoothening + sharpening) when upgrading to what should be much better hardware only to retain their old quality. I don't know if they're deliberately sandbagging/milking or just incompetent. Sorry if this comes across as harsh, but I've disliked Samsung ever since I owned the Alpha. I gave them a second chance with the S8 since the company looked renewed but got burned again. Since then I've been very sceptical about their marketing and now they have the audacity to release this ridiculously expensive phone.

For vlogging/filmmaking, I like the centered punch hole because for some reason you can attach an external lens to it to make wider field of view. Unlike the side punch hole which is pretty much difficult to put on an external lens.

The S20 Ultra is an amazing phone. But the price is way off, for what it's offering. Which is not a huge leap from the MI 10 pro. This price hiking with the flagship phones needs to stop. I mean you can get a note 10 plus with 256Gb for around 780 dollars now. And the S20 ultra is not 620 dollars better than note 10 plus. You still get a similar experience. Antutu Benchmark wise, are we just going to ignore that the 8gb Ram of Mi10 scored 100k more than the 12gb Ram of the S20 ultra? That's beastly optimization right there!

From your photos I would give the Mi 10 Pro the edge in daylight as the colours and white balance looked nicer on the Mi 10 but the S20 ultra wins at night time as the Mi 10 was trying to be be too bright and blows out a lot of highlights.

Also the dynamic range of most of the shots is better on Mi 10 pro. But on the S20 ultra shots were more detailed, especially when zoomed and i liked the color a bit more on the ultra because they were more vibrant. The pizza shot however at 12:32 was dissapointing on the ultra due to the super yellowish tone.

Yup low light shots are better on S20U. But thats b/c S20U automatically detects low light situation and use night mode for photos while in mi 10 pro U have to manually switch on the night mode. I think thats the reason of overexposure

One major winning factor for me is that Samsung pay works in almost all places that accept regular debit or credit cards, like even if they don't have a wireless pay option it still goes through.

If given a chance, i would pick the S20 Ultra. On the other hand, Mi10 and Mi10pro are great options too for a budget conscious individual like me. It has the Sd865 processor like the S20 ultra does however in our region we might be getting an Exynos processor for the latter and that's a bit of a downer for me. Camera performance is no longer an elephant in the room as they all performed great. They all offer great haptics and amazing display. TCL did a good job for the display of the mi10 series

If you want it to beat that 600000 antutu score just put it in gaming mode or what performance mode there is on the phones and if you want to cheat at go higher put the phone on a bad of frozen peas or something really cold then you get Max performance

Been with Samsung since s2 s3 days and now due for an upgrade. This is where i draw the line with Samsung. These flagship prices are getting ridiculously expensive. Even if i had the money I couldn't see myself spending 13-1400 on a phone.

I wouldn't pay double the money just for a bit better Camera. I don't think that anything else matters that much. You have big screens on both of them. And the hardware is "virtually identical" (Mark Goldberg voice) I'm curious about the new K30 Pro 🤔 I have the K20 Pro 256 and it's sooooo sufficient.
