Why does Canada day need M’ikmaq “Actors?” There are thousands of First Nations people who live in Canada. I find this to be incredibly offensive and unnecessary. Would you be okay with creating a group of “African Actors” who wore traditional African regalia and sang ceremonial songs? I doubt it! Don’t do it for First Nations people! Ask the local Mi’kmaq, Mètis-Cree, Ojibway, and Inuk peoples if they will participate in “Canada day.” Mocking our culture is not acceptable.
