l'm using my daughters fb.- My name is Caroline Joe also(3 feathers dancing) . l really love this video because its an honor song and it has the pictures of my late mom's picture "Rita Joe" & my late brother's pic, his name was Francis B. Joe.. Yeah there with the creator, someday l will meet them again.

This is the first time I have heard this song and so I wrote the following. I am Mi'kmaq, I am white, I am neither one nor the other but both and not whole but yet a fire dances within me as I listen to this song, words I do not understand but it feels familiar. I picture my father in the drumming circle singing this song with his ancestors, his mother, his brother and cousins as I watch from the distance. I do not come because the face I see is also of my mothers but it is my fathers eyes that I have, I feel the fire burning because I have his blood flowing in my veins. I see him waving me over to join him but I hesitate because I am not whole and I think I will not be accepted so I remain annonymous. This song is powerful.....

I'm not sure if I have Mi'kmaq ancestry, but I hope I do. Tribes and Natives have always been subjects that interest me like no tomorrow, and I am in love with the Mi'kmaq culture. I wanna learn the language, all of their celebrations and dances and learn what each of their clothing garments mean.
