This is very helpful as long as the Mi3 router is being set up for the first time. But what if the router has already been set up as a regular router and one needs to change the settings for it to be a repeater/extender? What are the steps for that?

@Viraj Marne Thanks. I did end up figuring this out. I was originally thinking that it was possible to switch between regular router mode and repeater mode, that it was just a tab in the main menu. But it's not. You have to make the decision to hard set up the device as either a router or a repeater.

I had a question bro. So we have 3 Xiaomi 3C routers at home. One configured primary, and the other two configured as repeater (thanks to you). But when I log in into the router administration page for the two repeaters (ip addresses are different), I always see 0 devices connected (from it's stats page), even if I am right next to it. Have you noticed this issue? I have updated firmware on all routers to the latest. One of the repeater is upstairs in the same home. All repeaters receives signal from primary router.

Myfriend, this is not a issue. After repeater setup in most Routers, the device's dhcp becomes disabled. Whenever a wireless / wired device connects to the repeater, the ip address will be assigned from the ap router / primary router's dhcp server only. Open your primary router, you will find connected devices in the primary router. Your device is in corrently wireless bridge mode.thankyou..

What firmware version of your router ? My router is on 2.10.38 but not appear the option "Amplifier Mode". When I configured for first time I pluged ethernet cable on WAN. Maybe for this it not show that option? My model is MIR3. Tks

Myfriend, follow, any routers, 1. setup client routers wifi network (wifi id & password) 2. Give ip address from host routers network range example if host router ip address is 192.168.0.1 then give client router ip address 192.168.0.x 3. Disable DHCP server. 4. Finely Connect cable host routers lan port to client routers lan port. it Don Not only for mi routers you can do this tricks for any routers.thankyou..

Yuvi Dhillon yeah sure buddy, you need to have iOS device for that as I did on my iPhone, don’t know about android. 1st no need of downloading app just turn on the modem and go to your wifi turn it on and connect the device then automatically web browser will open the mi device page there you setup your device, choose repeater as the option and add wifi name and password and you are good to go. This is how i did you can give it a try i hope it works for u as well.
