Performed at the St. Pancras Station in London. I couldn't resist playing something from La La Land. I'm a little rusty on the jazz riff part but I thought for a single take, it went pretty well!

Thought I'd address some FAQs here as I can't respond to everybody's messages. Sorry! 1.) It took me roughly three weeks of learning and practicing this piece for a couple hours each day before I managed to commit everything to muscle memory. I was rusty by the end of the third week but after playing it many times after that, I got to a point where I can just play it as smoothly as this. Of course, I still mess up as anybody would. It's also worth mentioning. 2.) Regarding sheet music, I'm afraid I've lost my sheet music somewhere in either my own house or my parent's house so I can't tell you who transcibed it. Keep in mind I'd first learnt this piece over three years ago! By now, loads of people have transcribed this piece and even my rendition isn't the most accurate. In all honesty, I'm of the opinion that if you love and value the music you want to play, then you'd be willing to pay at least a couple pounds for a PDF, which is the usual asking price for a good transcription. 3.) It's a fair thing to do, relating this video to Ryan Gosling in La La Land but personally, I don't really care about whether I'm crowd pleasing; this is what you should expect playing a song from a film that is, not only a movie musical, but is of a genre of music that doesn't appeal to the masses. If I really wanted to get a crowd forming, I would've played Bohemian Rhapsody or Despacito. Just because people don't know the song well enough to stop and listen, it doesn't mean that they're rude or that they don't appreciate music. Also, keep in mind, this is a train station... people have places to go to. lol All in all, if you see this video and are inspired, then fantastic! I'm glad that my impromptu video had affected people in some positive way. My top tips is to not be a Sebastian and learn and appreciate music for the music, not for the clout and how it makes you look.

@@jovito3630your comment changed my perspective on this, the girl he needed, the girl that mattered. He was able to catch her attention. That’s how I feel about that interaction in general with the girl I love but just as the movie, it’s a sad love lost

It really be like that... almost as if people don't care about art nowadays... almost like in the movie when Sebastian is playing the piano and nobody cares only that one person in the crowd.
@myshadow80384 жыл бұрын
IAMPEDRO 101 art is subjective, we can agree that this is our type of art, but others don’t see this as art, a ton of people see a mountain to climb as art, not a stranger playing piano, I don’t think they mean to be rude.

While I was watching this, all I could think of was how, within the busy crowds of people passing by and not paying attention, there was likely at least one person that felt that same magical feeling Mia felt in the movie when she heard it. The type of feeling that makes you stop in your tracks when you hear it. Like something's calling out for you, and you feel an instinct to follow.

The best performance I’ve seen on KZbin for this piece. All other performances skips the third part where he goes crazy on the piano. Thanks man!

amazing! when I started listening to this, my first thought was “he spent many weeks learning this”" and I was right when I read the comments. I spent 8 years in music school, but just a few weeks ago I started playing the piano again. and my second play will be the theme of Mia and Sebastian! Thank you very much for pushing me to study the play

Yep aha, I'm using the sustain pedal as Black Widow mentioned. I release just as soon as I change chords on the left hand so they don't mix but sounds somewhat seemless! Good observation!
