Mia opens up like never before about SURVIVING domestic violence. She talks about how important it is to notice the signs as well as how she finally got the COURAGE to stand up and leave. She gives a heartfelt message and advice to everybody that has ever experienced the same situations and how much it felt to have the support of her family and friends. Growing up in Southern California and Washington D.C., Mia speaks about the challenge of growing up with a father who worked for the FBI and how she used arts and sports as an outlet. She shares how she grew to love pro wrestling by watching it with her father and why she gave up a full volleyball scholarship. Mia would eventually pursue her dream of wrestling and traveled all over the world honing her craft which led her to participating in both Mae Young Classics. Mia shares what she was doing when the chants of “Please Sign Mia” broke out in the crowd and why she thought she was in trouble when Triple H spoke to her shortly after. Thank you! I am in a position where I had to totally disconnect from my abuser. It was fune for 8 days, then he started pushing me, pulling my hair, then he hit me. I had to leave after he beat me then left me in a alley by the LA Coliseum, this was Thanksgiving week. Telling me he loves me. Threatening to kill me if I changed my number. I did. I'm scared now. No he doesn't know exactly where I live but I'm scared that he will find me. Thank you for this! Would anyone have any advice for me? I love him still but my life is more important than death. Great interview. Not a wrestling fan, but seeing this is eye opening to the possibly of domestic abuse in this sport. There are probably a lot of women in this situation that are silent.
