Like everything NCT does, it's all based on their dream concept. Hence, why in NCT-127's "Favorite (Vampire)" they are vampires and why you see them sleeping in the beginning and end of the MV. Jaehyun was bit by the vampire which is the girl they sing about and she is the one that turned them all into vampires. It's the intoxicating power of the vampire girl that has them enchanted, which is why they say "girl you're my favorite" in the lyrics. They are beguiled by her powers, which has them devoted to her. This is also why you see them with supernatural vampire abilities like when they flash in and out as they transition between the members. (Often in romantic vampire stories they say the vampires have a shimmering effect.) The butterfly is thought to represent the woman or vampire they are talking about in the song -- instead of turning into a bat, maybe she turns into a butterfly -- which is why you see the butterfly touching their hearts. If you're impressed with NCT-127's dancing in their "Favorite (Vampire)" MV, just wait until you see their dance practice for the song.There's more to this choreography than what you see in the MV. There is an even more epic intro section that was added to the performance that is only in the dance practice.

Now that you have heard the English version of NCT-127's "Regular, if you haven't already, you should also check out NCT-127's Korean version and WayV's Mandarin version. And once you have done that, you should then look up the lyrics to all 3. If you look up the English translation of the lyrics for the Korean and Mandarin versions and compare them to the English version you will see that even though it's the same beat and the same title, the lyrics are different for all 3 songs. (The Korean MV is slightly different from the English version because the lyrics are different, so the story they are telling is different.) For example, like everything NCT does, it all has to do with some aspect of a dream. In the English version what you see are all things that people would dream are possible when they have all the fame and fortune in the world. I think it's supposed to be like they are characters within a crazy dream world. In the English version the tiger is used as a big flex to show that they are so rich and famous that they can even command the respect of a tiger. However, you will see in the Korean version the tiger is more of a symbol of courage and bravery, as a way to symbolize how they are working hard to be their best selves. For "Regular" Jongwoo has officially debuted as a member of NCT-127, so now there are 10 members in NCT-127. Fun fact: WinWin is the only member who is in all 3 versions of "Regular" because he is a member of both NCT-127 and WayV. (I believe this is the last MV, so far, where we see WinWin as a member of NCT-127. It was released in 2018 and WayV debuted in the beginning of 2019.) If you look up the lyrics for the Korean version you will discover that the lyrics for the English version of "Regular" are almost opposite of what they are talking about in the Korean version. That's why the album is called Regular Irregular. The English version is what I would describe as the cocky version of the song and it hits on the aesthetic of what appeals more to an American audience. The English version talks about being famous and having lots of money and still not being satisfied until they possess all the riches and fame. "Regular" is supposed to be NCT-127's U.S. debut so that is why they made an English version. However, the Korean version is what I would call the humble version of the song. The Korean lyrics talk about how they are constantly working hard and are never satisfied with the end result and how they hope to have the success that they always dream of, etc. -- which is what appeals more to a Korean audience. The Chinese version of the song also has different lyrics. The MV for WayV's version of "Regular" is about dominating in the technology realm and that is why in WayV's MV you see them as stock traders in the stock market and at one point they are literally inside a computer, etc. It's all about dominating in the business world. "Regular" was technically WayV's debut song as well. You should really take the time to see what makes the 3 versions so different, besides the fact that they are in 3 different languages. :D It's really interesting to see how 3 songs can be created in 3 different languages using the same beat and feel, and yet have completely different messages. It just goes to show how diverse the music industry is and yet still so similar. :D
