The same people who don’t want To pay Tua and say “Make him play on the franchise tag” are the same ones complaining about paying him because it would restrict the Dolphins cap. Both situations do the same. The difference being the flexibility of the cap with multiple years. You franchise tag, that’s hard capped. You’re fully paying Tua that franchise tag. Whether or not you pay Tua, it’s more about cap flexibility than the contract numbers. Outs would be put in place to move on from him.
