Just be careful if crossing that time of year. It can get sporty to say the least.

Nice trip guys. I’m getting ready to make another crossing leaving from Ft Lauderdale this time. How was the marina you left from? Was it Harbour Towne? We’ll be taking a Gamefish 25 and an 18cc for a week, and looking for a safe place to leave the trucks.
@FrigateChaserFishing4 жыл бұрын
Yes it was Harbour Towne. We have left truck and trailer there twice now w no problems. We have a more recent vid on the crossing with more information. Check it out! Have a safe trip!

Man I wish I would’ve seen your new video before I went the first time! Great video! And answered so many questions that I only found out by going. That will be a huge help for anyone trying to cross for their first time. My last crossing was from Boynton Beach to Treasure Cay, checking in at West End on Grand Bahama Island on the smallest cruise ship (jetski) lol. If y’all every need info on that epic voyage let me know. Tight lines

@@FrigateChaserFishing hi can a cobia 237 with a 300 yamaha make the trip to bimini
@FrigateChaserFishing5 жыл бұрын
Alex Bakalis BAKALIS you’d need to pick your days wisely but you can do it. I’ve seen guys go across on much smaller boats. The key is to make sure you understand the Gulf Stream. Can be a bit chunky crossing it, but once you are through it you are golden.

Appreciate your videos. I plan on taking the trip 2021. What's the best time of the year to make the trip?
@FrigateChaserFishing4 жыл бұрын
Early summer is typically best. June-July.

Did you put car gas into your Sea Hunt?
@FrigateChaserFishing4 жыл бұрын
Yes, we use mid-grade unleaded per our dealers recommendation and research online. Depends on the engine and how much you use them, but many of these newer four strokes are fine with it and you don’t have to use ethanol free gas.
@FrigateChaserFishing4 жыл бұрын
By mid-grade, I mean nothing with more than 10% (E10) ethanol. And make sure you’ve got a 10 micron fuel/water separator.

Wish i was rich, so i can call this boat small.
@FrigateChaserFishing4 жыл бұрын
Everything is relative! It’s small compared to an HCB 65 for sure. :-) A couple of us actually share the expense of our boat so we can afford it. If you have buddies you trust enough to do the same, it’s a game changer!
@luchob7955 жыл бұрын
This is not a small boat! 400 hp
@eugeneabreut52085 жыл бұрын
Lucho B yea a 26ft cc with twin 200 is mot a small boat. I was think 21cc with single outboard. Now thats a risky trip
@FrigateChaserFishing4 жыл бұрын
It’s all relative right. :-). Our point is more it isn’t a big boat to be crossing the Gulf Stream is deep water. We are lucky to have the boat we do for sure, but any boat that’s considered a “small craft” by the coast guard should exercise caution.
