As a Bond fan, I can’t believe that you didn’t mention Benicio del Toro was a great bad guy in “Licence To Kill”.

Morgan, I've been aware of this episode since it's original air date. I remember thinking to myself during the Elvis impersonation/improve ( I have not seen it since, no joke) I am witnessing excellence. albeit a drug addicted, down trottened depth i could barely peek into and see for myself how deep he really reached. I was blown away by his performance. That performance was his ..no one else could have done it. It's like he knew this guy Mikey so it wasn't a bit of a stretch. Buy he sure did dig deep !!! Rest easy Michael Carmine.

"0ne note macho dick" lol Morgan I love your deadpan humour. This episode reminds me of 21 Jump Street.

This episode's depiction of Crockett as someone who is *fascinated* by art and the talent to make art makes me think of his comment about something "sounding like a Bennett play" in... I think Definitely Miami? And how he briefly sounds very sincere until Tubbs seems surprised that he knows Bennett, at which point he backs off. We've also seen him reading for fun a couple of times on the Dance, despite the fact that he's implied he's not that smart a couple of times as well. It makes me feel like Crockett has a little bit of a complex with regards to his education, and that while he's tried to fill those (perceived) gaps, he's also not super willing to let anyone know that. As you said, when he's not written as a tough guy with as anger issues, he's just such a fascinating and complex character. I love the idea of a Crockett who reads scripts for fun but is a little shy about letting anyone in on that fact!

Quentin Tarantino definitely saw this episode (Paul Calderon, a mob boss murders to regain his stolen briefcase, and the infamous trunk POV shot)...

A very solid and unique episode that I'd rate with three flamingos but hey ... taste is different for everyone.

I liked the ending. I just thought the genius acting scenes went on way too long.

I always say to myself, “Hey, didn’t that guy die last season?”

I have to say I was very much bored watching this episode. This episode foreshadowed some of the boring episodes to come in the following season.
