Leonardo's Truth Yeah, all three of those characters were really clued in to how much red tape and hurdles that got in the way of them doing their job. It seems before the events of the show Castillo already dealt with such obstacles when he worked for the DEA. Definitely, the characters in this series were really fleshed out, and as the wiki on this show mentioned, evolved during the show's run (even Castillo became a little warmer, although he was still a Samurai at heart).

Especially in the later seasons, they had several episodes that were duds. If they would have had better stories, this show could have ran longer. Like the story where Crockett had amensia and became Burnett. That was awesome! I would have stretched that story out for another episode or two.

This was THE show back in the day! I used to see them shooting on location in and around Miami back in the 80's and although they used sets like any other production, they did a LOT of on-location scenes and that was always really cool to see on TV. I bought the DVD boxed set 7 years ago and I remember seeing these clips on the "making of" portion of the DVD's. The 80's was the best time of my life. I was young, healthy and full of life and life was good. Time has sure flown . . .

VERY. The one where, when the perp is with Crockett n tubbz or anyone else, he's... 🤨🤔 Seemingly normal*???😬😅.... Anyways, the bad guy is this scrawny man who, when after every encounter or screwup on his part, youll hear him talking to "someone" who you won't see for the first part of the episode... Now this "someone" is usually responding by saying some mean degrading ass stuff to him 😂, blaming him for being such a screwup all the time, In a voice that sounds an AWFUL LOT like a GROWNASSMAN thats speaking like a small female child or something .... conveniently you never see his face as that thing is talking because as you might've guessed, It was him talking to himself the whole time, Arguing & all 😂, going back and forth between his own voice, to the WEIRDEST ASS CREEPIEST "child voice" I've EVER heard. The real spoiler tho: He's carrying a little toy girl doll with him everywhere he goes. It's the doll. He's voicing for the doll the entire time, degrading himself n all with it in that voice 😂😂😂 oh but he's like, EVER SO INNAPPROPRIATELY AFFECTIONATE WITH IT, baby talking to it n shit like... 🫣☠️ *I can't even remember ANY "normal" part of that episode lmao. Man that one... That is the one episode that is like, way too vividly BURNED into my brain forever 😳😅😬😵‍💫 I FEEL like he was a CMO, that's what he was doing criminal-wise in the show... Cause that mofo ain't running NO coke NOWHERE already thwacked out like that 🤣🤣🤣

Get ready in 2021 Don Johnson is coming back to reprise his role as Crockett in the reboot of Miami Vice, he said this in an interview afew months ago whenever his New movie came out that Vin Diesel was taken the show production over from Warner to make a reboot of Miami Vice & Don Johnson was coming back to help write the story to where Crockett has been all this time, but Don Johnson said it has to be done right for the fan's that he was curious to see where Crockett is today Don said probably in the jungle hunting, don't know yet on who else is signed up but Don said he only wants to do one season to give us fan's one last story for Crockett, the guys who did 7 8 & 9 fast movie's is working on the New reboot Miami Vice, that Vin Diesel said he was a big fan of Crockett & wanted to give fan's a better ending to Crockett than what WE got in 89, this time we will see Crockett like never before... Don Johnson in his own words said he was curious to jump back in with Crockett for one last ride to a way better story ending & it will be in ONE season ONLY they got it for 13 episodes but Vin Diesel is pushing for 23 episodes like the original show did cause its gonna take that long to see crockett's story to unfold, & give us fan's what we all been hoping for... I cant wait to finally see this come to life again, Don is also reprising his role as Nash Bridges & that show is supposed to come out at same time Miami Vice is i am not sure but Don Johnson said That is why he only WANTS to do one season of Miami Vice to give his Nash Bridges fan's one more season on that one, i didn't like him on that show as much as Miami Vice, he said he's only giving what his fan's wants to see, so WE will see what happens i do believe in Vin Diesel i think he will make this show bad ass again & who knows we may see 2,3 or 5 seasons i can only hope....

I began re-watching the Miami Vive episodes a few years ago i.e, 2014. I was amazed at how it had NOT dated. My favourite al time show is The Sopranos. There is much Miami Vice in The Sopranos. For example, Miami Vice politically captured the moment. The situation in Colombia; large drug lords - the real Pablo Escobar was alive and his capo's were as violent as the drug lord dealers depicted on Miami Vice. NICARAGUA - which I discuss below Eighties Icon - Miami Vice has become as iconic the white - Ferrari TestaRossa - that Don Jonson (Sonny Crockett ) and Phillip Michael Thomas (Det. Riccardo Tubbs). There was a 5 year waiting line for the Testarossa and in particular the white - Ferrari TestaRossa. The Testarossa's design like the show was year's ahead. Name one other CAR that captures a whole decade. Anyone over 38 years old today knows about Miami Vice and the white Ferrari. POLITICS - Shows like the Six Million Dollar Man played at the height of the Cold War and often made up countries to avoid deliberately mentioning Eastern Bloc countries. This went out the window with Miami Vice. President Ronald Reagan and his brand Reaganomics economic helped explode the U.S. economy along with Escobar's cocaine. The U.S. and most of the so-calle "free" world applauded Reagan as he stood up to Soviet Union. Yet . . . Miami Vice focussed on issues pertaining to Central and South America often showing the blinding power of corruption that cocaine caused. NICARAGUA - Sensitive issues like Nicaragua and the Contra's were mentioned blatantly in Series 3. Many were stunned and applauded the producers of Miami Vice. I was doubly stunned that the Episode covering the Nicaraguan situation at the time blatantly illustrated the U.S. supporting "terrorists." This situation forced Reagan to say that "one man's terrorist is another man's freedom fighter' when the U.S. and the world found out too late that some people in the U.S. administration utilised some dirty, under-handed tactics. The Episode regarding the Contra's ends with Crockett's friend being killed trying to expose massive U.S. corruption by various intelligence agencies and the FBI and Secret Service. The episode concludes with the United States making a formal complaint to the Sandanista government when when U.S. paid mercenaries did the killings. NOTE _ Years later I found out that this Episode was 80% accurate as a similar event had happened. MUSIC - the music people behind Miami Vice should have received Emmy's. 90% of the time the music perfectly fit therefore gaining the then at the time "mocking adage" MTV Cops. In one episode Crocket's white Ferrari chases two Lotus Esprit's to the tune of English Goth Band - The Mission - song called "Wasteland." Wow .... the Mission was one of the U.K.'s most successful goth bands.

He is gonna return cause he was on the today show afew months ago talking about vin diesel getting the rights to the show from Warner & Vin wants Don Johnson to reprise his role as sunny Crockett but Don Johnson said he didn't want this show to be about fast cars & cell phones that in the 80's it was about Drug Dealers & money killing alot of running around & speed boats, that cell phones wasnt in the game then that alot of Miami Vice was real life stories from real cop's & Don wanted it to go back to that if he signed up for another smaller part cause he is 74 now & probably can't do all that running anymore but like he said he didn't have to run that much back then either cause his stunt body double did most of the running & chasing, whenever they would do a running scene they would use over & over just change the background, i didn't even know that i thought they did everything on there own, but he says in season 4 & 5 he did do most of his own stunts cause fans could tell it wasn't him in season 1 2 & 3, that limo in season 4 where it blew up with him jumping over it, he said all that was him in 8 takes & 2 days of jumping over that car, get ready for Miami Vice reboot in 2021 its supposed to happen according to Don Johnson own mouth, he just doesn't know where Sunny Crockett is & has been all these years that he's curious to jump back in & find out & he's very excited to sit down with Vin Diesel to help write this story back on TV, Don Johnson said this was just the beginning that us fan's will see Crockett back in action for one last season cause Don Johnson only wants to be in one season & turn it over to the New.. He is also reprising his role as Nash Bridges that's supposed to come out the same time Miami Vice is.. I don't know about y'all but i didn't like him on that show as much as Miami Vice, he just played Crockett so DAME GOOD & the show was that DAME gr8 i watched EVERY episode of Miami Vice growing up i was a big fan so i can't wait to finally see him as Crockett again, i dont know who else is signed up to reprise there role except Don Johnson for time being, guess we just have to tune in & see....

It always bothered me how they never revisited the issue of Rico and Angelina's son, Ricardo. If you remember, Orlando Calderone had the infant removed from the car before it exploded, killing Angelina. This was still early in the series and most people probably assumed they would revisit it again later on, as nobody except Orlando and his men knew the infant had been taken from the car, and as far as Tubbs knew his son died in the explosion... but they never came back to address the issue. It's assumed the infant would have been raised within the Orlando Calderone family, and I think this was a major opportunity writers of the show seriously overlooked. It could have been crafted into a multi-episode storyline, yet we just never heard about it again and it could have made for such a cool episode (or two). This also means somewhere out there in the Miami Vice universe Tubbs' son could have gotten a job with Miami Metro-Dade Police and over the years of advancing, could possibly be heading up the modern day Organized Crime Bureau (OCB) Vice unit. I saw where they may be doing a Miami Vice "reboot" soon and if they do this would be a great idea to base it on. They could even incorporate Crockett's son 'Billy' as another Metro-Dade cop, who by chance works within OCB and the two may even be friends (or will be). This would be a really good, believable way of incorporating Sonny Crockett and Ricardo Tubbs into the show (at times) because I can't see a couple of 70 year-old Vice cops still runnin' around Miami making coke deals. Just my 2 cents...
@dangkoen
@dangkoen 2 жыл бұрын
On the Miami Vice wiki, in the trivia section on the episodes "Sons & Lovers" + "The Afternoon Plane" it is speculated the makers didn't want to limit Tubbs' involvement in storylines by him having a kid. His son showing up in a rebooted version might be good idea, but I would prefer neither he nor Billy are some type of cop. That'd be to convenient & a tired cliché. If the potential makers are considering this, I'd prefer if the kids aren't included at all. Frankly if Vin Diesel & Neal H. Moritz are involved with the reboot as rumored, they shouldn't do a reboot at all.

I have only just started to watch Miami Vice over thenladt few month. I am currently halfway through Season 4. Miami Vice is one of the best shows to ever grace our tv screens and is the quintessential 80s in a nutshell. Although I was around when this first aired, I didn't remember it as I had just been born in March 1985, 6 months after the pilot aired in the US. We in the UK didn't get Miami Vice until Monday, February 4th, 1985, when the pilot episode first aired. I don't remember ever watching it throughout the 80s as I was very young. My parents may have watched, but again, I'm not sure. I had heard and seen great things about Miami Vice, which made me want to watch the whole series. I have putnit off for years and finally in the last few months watched most of it and it has become my favourite tv show of all time.

Seasons 1 and 2 were on par with each other and both had the same feel and appearance and was the recipe they should have stayed with throughout the remainder of the series. Season 3 had a slightly different look about it but you can tell they had some changes behind the camera. By season 4 it was a different show altogether and the writing was atrocious at times. There were still some good episodes but we got episodes like 'Missing Hours' with UFO encounters and utterly ridiculous 'Miracle Man' with it's superhero theming. It's hard to believe Vice went from being that red-hot show that could do no wrong, to a floundering series that left you shaking your head wondering what in the hell happened. We've all seen it happen before with various tv shows but when you have a favorite tv show like Vice where the first two seasons are absolutely on fire, it really makes you sad to see it steadily decline and eventually crash & burn. I was glad they didn't kill off Sonny and Rico at the end but the way it actually happened still seemed rather depressing. I kinda hoped they would have written it where Crockett & Tubbs might possibly change their minds and, after getting a "second wind" of sorts, might decide to go back to the office and just continue doing what they do best and carry on but instead we got a scenario where they both have a rather uncertain future where Crockett goes "somewhere further south" because he was completely burned out, and Tubbs goes "back to the big bad Bronx" with a future that was equally uncertain. It always bothered me how they never revisited the issue of Rico and Angelina's son. Orlando Calderone had the infant removed from the car before it exploded, killing Angelina. This was still early in the series and I just assumed they would revisit it again later on... only they never did. It's assumed the infant would have been raised within the Orlando Calderone family, and I think this was one such opportunity the writers really missed and could have been crafted into a multi-episode storyline, yet it was just never heard from ever again and it could have made such a cool episode (or two).

In the 80s people of my generation loved this show it was different stylish different than any police show on TV and had a soundtrack with all the popular artists awesome story's and very interesting characters and far as the way we dressed in the cities alot of guys were dressing like crocket and Tubbs so were recording artists it was definitely influential on varios levels it made police work look glamorous and it had shoot out or 2 every episode it wasn't boring like other police shows at the time

It put some of todays stars on the map...WESLEY SNIPES...(bad guy) Giancarlo Esposito(bad guy) . Micheal Wright(bad guy) But, it made PHILLIP MICHEAL THOMAS. ONE OF THE 5 MOST POPULAR BLACK MEN OF THE 80'S IT WAS MICHEAL JACKSON , PRINCE, EDDIE MURPHY, PHILLIP MICHEAL THOMAS, AND MR T. ALSO I JUST SEEN JIMMY SMITTS....WHO PLATED CROCKETTS PARTNER. NOW JIMMY SMITTS DONE DID LA LAW, NYPD BLUE and has etched himself in cinematic HISTORY as being BAIL ORGANA in the star wars universe. Miami VICE did way more good than bad.

i moved down there when I was 20 largely due to this show. worked in restaurants, did a lot of coke, drank a lot of champagne, dated lots of hot chicks (all crazy), then whoa, you're 30 & working in a restaurant, doing coke & drinking ev day, not so cool anymore. Long story short, got a liquor sales job, made it a career & got out of so fla ...

After season 2, Michael Mann was no longer directing the show and you can tell. Also Don Johnson became a prima donna more focused on movies and his music career and threatened to leave the show. He started phoning in his acting trather than going all out like he did initially. Plus the budget was cut and with Johhnson's now inflated salary, there wasn't a lot left to shoot with. First two seasons were on fire though, they seriously caught lightning in a biottle.

The show was great those fancy clothes cars Miami and only lasted 5 years I don't know why but the Pteranodon Johnson said when they wanted to play either way to take the part but when he went down there was 101 degrees I read this his I get my own clothes so everything that these guys wear on the show and the girls are real Versace so you know where you can see the texts going around like that and driving Ferraris that's good advice but the fish and they don't put the remix back on a TV like they have so many of these I would you call Fast and Furious every other night Fast and Furious I'm for real Miami Vice weather was on agency or whatever lot of good shows and Best Buy story and I'm sticking to it

I think thjis show is guilty of making me an absolute brown hater! XD Brown stands for depression, for crisis, for bad cars that won't start and for close minded people you tend to hate. Now white, black & pastels, that is sexy, that is cool. Fast cars, hot chicks and great music. And that is because it's miami vice!
