The Testarossa in Miami Vice was given to the show by Ferrari so that they’d represent the brand properly instead of a kit car Daytona on a C3 ‘Vette chassis. It was originally black, but because so much of the show was filmed at night, they painted it white. And it had the single flying mirror. So this is not the show car.

I read a documentary on Enzo Ferrari, and he Liked the show very much so he gave them two Black testarossa’s but they were painted White because they wouldn’t show up in Night Shots.so you are correct on the repainting of the cars.

It’s not a 512 TR but DAMN if it isn’t beautiful. I had a chance to get one with 80k+ miles on it, wanted 50k for it. Even if I had bought it outright in cash, it would have killed me on insurance and maintenance. I wanted it so badly :( there’s just something about these cars that make me drool

512 TRs were the name given to the 2nd gen (or i guess more like a facelift) Testarossas in the early 90s. The first gen was simply called the Ferrari Testarossa. ;)

It’s the same car basically. Just a face lift and wheels. Lower the engine and more power. And a little better interior, not that the testarossa ever lacked on this, but people complain about the stupidest things. It’s not a civic 😁

These fat American License Plates are really frustrating. Every other country I’ve been to… England, Brazil, etc have the thinner wider plates that follow the line of the car and don’t stick down impeding proper airflow and ruining the design.
